Has anyone ever rented wheelchairs from off site?

Do the parks ever run out of ECVs?

Are the ECVs single person only? Or could a 65 lb child ride with an adult?

MK does run out of ECV's, but I have never run out of them at any of the other parks...but, I haven't gone during peak season with my mom (who is the one who uses the ecv). If you are planning to do a day at MK, go there when the park opens.

You may not have a child ride with you on a WDW scooter.

The parks do often run out of ECVs, sometimes within a few hours of opening, so I think the general consensus on this board is that it's safer to rent from an outside company. The FAQ near the top of the board has a heap of information on rental companies. As to children riding on adults laps, I'm pretty sure it isn't allowed, but I'm not an expert.

Good luck and have a great holiday :goodvibes

Kids are absolutely not allowed to ride on adults laps on ECV's. I saw a security guard stop someone and tell them the kid had to get off when I was there a coule weeks ago. It's the one rule they seem to absolutely enforce.

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. The fifth item down is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information, including where people rent ECVs.

The rental terms for ECVs, whether rented from Disney or from an outside source are that only one person, at least 18 years old, is permitted to ride on the ECV.

It is absolutely unsafe to have a child riding. All you need is for the child to hit against the control, either by accident or experimenting, and you could possibly run into another person with a vehicle that weights about 200 pounds plus the passenger weight. Or you could run to a wall or off a sidewalk.

I have seen ECVs go out of control when the child hit the controller. All the child did was get excited and try to point out something. His hand hit the driver's and it veered away.
