Well, I'm sure some folks who read this thread earlier have noticed that some posts have been removed. I'd like to remind everyone about the "report bad post" button that appears to the left under each poster's name. It looks like this --
If anyone reads anything that looks questionable, please feel free to report it. I had a problem receiving bad post reports but that appears to be cleared up now. In addition, please feel free to PM any moderator (right now I'm flying solo on this board) regarding a questionable post. Sometimes (especially for me) I will respond faster to the PMs than the e-mails.
Anyway, back to the topic.
I was on a flight a couple of years ago when I noticed a young boy seated in an aisle seat across from me and the FA talking to his mother a few rows up. I told the FA that I would be glad to switch with the mother. The mother had a smaller child in the seat next to her (it was a 2-2 Canadair jet) so we switched. I found out later the boy was supposed to be in the aisle across from the mother but some jerk who boarded before them decided he wanted to sit near the front and took the seat. I don't know why she didn't get the FA to have the other passenger move since he was obviously in someone else's assigned seat and the flight was only 75% full if that.
My point -- parents, don't be afraid to ask someone to switch. Yes, there are jerks like the one I described but I like to think they are few and far between.
