I didn't see anything posted about the Regal Sun Resort at Downtown Disney before our trip but tried it anyway... here's a quick review for those of you looking to get away on a small budget!
My family stayed at this resort over Labor Day Weekend and had a great experience. There truly is not a better location - right across from Downtown Disney (close to Once Upon a Toy and Earl of Sandwich - a family fave). The resort has been renovated recently and provides shuttles to the theme parks and we even walked over to Downtown Disney to catch a shuttle one day and grabbed a Earl's sandwich to go. My kids did not want to leave the pool area - it's like a mini waterpark and we had to promise to bring them back just so they would go to the parks with us.
This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a hotel "off" Disney but close to the action. It looked like they have good pricing all of the time but I know they also had some upcoming specials.
