If you're interested, just got this deal in an email from Travelzoo:

ORLANDORegal Sun Resort ... $59 (reg. $166)-Official Disney Resort; free upgrade & theme park shuttles-Valid Aug. 8 - Sept. 2; +$20 Sept. 3-5

I've never personally stayed there but have heard others here on the Dis mention it.

hth someone! :goodvibes

eta: Just reread their description. I wouldn't call it an 'official Disney Resort' as they do. It's at DTD so I'd call to see what perks they offer and compare to other WDW onsite perks. Wouldn't want someone to be disappointed after arrival. ;)

We've stayed at the Regal Sun before and have been pleased. Its not a 5 star, but it is nice We aren't picky when it comes to hotels, as long as it is clean and comfortable - and it was! It is very close to DD, easy walk there. Have kids activities during the day and a great pool area. In fact, we are leaving tomorrow for a few days at Disney and staying at the Regal Sun :)

I just ran this deal. . .

Sept 14-21st
1 Adult
3 Kiddos. . .15, 10 and 8
with airfare from Seattle

Staying at the Regal Sun with 7 day hoppers. . .$2897.22

Staying at Carribean Beach with 7 day hoppers. . .$3,618.93 (that includes free dining, Magical Express and the EMH which we use).

Sooooo. . .do you think it is worth the extra $700? I'm figuring that only works out to an extra $25 per day for each person for dining. I guess I just answered my own question. . .we aren't terribly big eaters. . .but I think with snacks we would probably spend $100 a day for food and it would be nice to not have to worry about cost and be able to hit some character meals, try out some new table service places, etc.

What do you all think?

ETA. .I think it is actually less per day. . .would we get 8 days of dining or 7? I'm not sure how that works.

Honestly, I can't answer that. I have stayed at CBR and enjoyed it but does Regal Sun include ME or Disney transportation? Would you have to rent a car and pay for parking at Regal Sun?

It's easy to spend well over $100/day on food. Our family of 4 spends almost that for 1 dinner at the Outback, no apps, dessert, or alcohol.

I feel so clueless to post about a hotel I know nothing about but have heard it here so many times I thought it might help someone. Sounds cheap at 1st but I guess they have to compete with free dining.

The dining goes by the number of nights you stay. You are the only one that can decide but if it was me I would probably do it if you like to go to different TS.
