I am very close on booking a vacation at the Regal Palms Resort in Kissimmee. It is between the Regal Palms Resort and Bahama Bay Resort in Kissimmee.

I would appreciate any advice or feedback on these properties.

Thanks,

We stayed there in "05. Booked a 3 bed townhome & were upgraded to a 4, not needed but nice. Nice resort with a great lazy river & pool. Club house & restaurant were just opening so I can't say much about those. We were there spring break & the drive to MK was terrible. It took an hour or better. Traffic
was mad/crazy. I've read other posts that say it does not usually take that long but I still think it would be the better part of 30 min. If you don't mind the traffic than have no hesitations about the resort. Think you will be pleased:goodvibes HTH

My home is between both these resorts and I can't say I have ever taken an hour to get to MK but if it was when there were raods works on 192 I can see it may be possible.

I obviously haven't stayed at either place but can say you can use either Sherberth Road or Avalon and Hartzog to get to the Disney area.Avalon may not be quicker you will not encounter the traffic lights on 192 but it odes depend on which park you are going to.Alternatively you can go to the bottom of Florence Villa Grove Road -where BB is situated and then turn left along Westside Blvd and this will bring you out at 192 opposite Avalon Road where you can either go straight across or turn right onto 192 and you do not have to use 27 to get there .

Jannyans-Thanks for the short cut info. Good to know for future reference. I do not recall construction just massive amounts of cars. As I said it was also during Spring Break.

We've stayed at Regal Palms a few times but rented directly through an owner.

The units themselves are basic beige but very spacious. We have stayed in the 4 bedrooms and there are also 3 1/2 baths!!!

The pool are is really beautiful. Kids did not want to leave it.

If you do a search on this board, you will come across all my other posts.

If you have seen pictures, that is exactly what it looks like.
You can also get a gift certificate for the restaurant on restaurant.com.

Hope this helps.

Bahama Bay is nice too...we think it has a more tropical feel to it than RP does:)

We didn't get a chance to drive down the 27 this last trip...are there lights at the BB/Florence Villa Grove Road/27 yet, Jann?

If not, I would use Jann's suggested alternate road..

There are lights at the RP/27 entrance:)

HTH!

MBB no lights as at dec last year when we were there last I think the authorities don't really want too many sets as it would stop the flow of traffic. The hope is that now the beltway is open from I-4 the heavy traffic will use that road so things won't be too bad.

We stayed at Regal Palms for a week at New Year's 2006. You have to be really careful about renting through the resort, as there are significant problems with no phone service, land or cell. Some of the units have not been very clean or have had problems with ant infestations. If you read the trip advisor reviews, you can get a pretty good feel for the resort. We just booked at Bahama Bay for March Break 2007 and got a very good rate from Expedia. The reviews for that resort are excellent. Do your research and you should be ok.

How expensive was Bahama Bay? :cool1:

I think the pool closed pretty early...I'm thinking around 8pm. Which is a bummer actually. But my kids are still young so they were ready for bed by then.

Good luck to you.

I booked our stay in a deluxe two bedroom which I believe is the Andros model by the description for $150 Ca per night. I believe Expedia.com also had a similar deal. This was a better deal than when I tried to book through the Web site.

We stayed there a couple of years ago in a 4 bdroom and didn't have a good stay at all. The beds linens were used and had not been changed, the dishes were dirty but had been put back in the cabinets...when we tried to complain about these things the front desk would tell us that they were sending someone, but they never did. Luckily we were only there for about 4 or 5 days.
