We rented a 3 bedroom townhouse through VRBO.
Resort ammenities- Pool was great and not crowded-bring your own tubes and put your name on them in permanat marker. We lost two tubes and saw a couple nasty arguments over them. For the $10.00 a day resort fee they should be able to provide them. The resort was very empty during our stay the pool services a lot of units and I would expect it gets very crowded during busy times. We didn't need to use the desk or staff for much so no customer service problems. The spa and hot tub area are very outdated and other than the pool there is a severe lack of landscaping. Also the garbage collection for the townhome area is attrocious.
Townhouse- We paid $149.00 and $89.00 for our two nights in April and $69.00 for seven in May plus $10.00 a day resort fee. No cleaning fee.
It was the best value we've found in a rental to date. It was large with everything we needed. Kitchen had the basic items we needed. Coffee maker, pans, dishes and glasses. Every bedroom had a TV and DVD player and a playpen and high chair were included. Only negatives were some stains on the carpet, the beds are very firm and the blankets and linens were not great.
We stayed in a two bedroom at Cypress Pointe in 2004. The pools are comparable and Cypress Pointe is better located, but overall we preferred Regal Palms. We didn't hit any traffic travelling to Disney. We mostly used I-4, but the times we used 192 it wasn't bad at all.
