Refurbishments - Earlier Opening?

What has been your experience with refurbishments? Splash Mountain now down 1/8-2/8, 2018. Of course our last park day is 2/8. Does Disney estimate conservative and occassionally reopen earlier than scheduled? Or likely out of luck?

I'm not going to Disney in the next year (that I know of), so I haven't been paying super close attention to the refurbishment schedule. Anyhow...I find it odd that Splash is going to be down again in January when it'll have just been down almost the entire fall.

Are you sure about that? All of the refurbishment schedules have Splash re-opening mid-November, including Disney's website (and being open in January/February).

Could you be seeing a DisneyLAND refurbishment instead of a DisneyWORLD?

ETA: Saw the Kenny the Pirate link in the other thread. He thinks it's WDW and it's going down again in Jan.

Kali River Rapids at DAK is closing for a 5 week refurbishment in January. I don't see anything about Splash Mountain going back down.

I believe KTP is a pretty solid source, though it is unusual I haven't been able to locate similar information on other websites (yet).

I do agree with you, for the most part. However, at one point in my planning, Kenny took away a late MK EMH that Disney never did. I haven't gone back to see if he ever reinstated it. So he does make mistakes; let's hope this is one of them.
