I think I remember in MK's photograph place you can have your picture taken and they will imprint it in front of the castle (they had other choices also).
It may not seem the same and seems a bit like cheating, buts it's an option if you would really like a shot like that.

Isnt anyone else annoyed by this? Does anyone know how long the wall will be up???

When we visited Disneyland last year, the exact same kind of wall had been build around the hub in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. The wall surrounded the same statue of Walt and Mickey and the gardens. Had the wall not been there, the views would have been nicer, and I missed not seeing the statue during my one and possibly only trip to Walt Disney's original Disneyland. However, in reality having the hub blocked off was minor considering that other featured attractions could have been closed instead. In fact, half of Main St. was covered in scafolding and tarps, but that didn't hamper our enjoyment of the park. We found Main St. to be fully functional and enjoyable, and more lively and active than the Florida version. My point is that it would be nice if the hub wasn't walled off, but it's not going to be a problem for my trip in less than two weeks if the walls are still there.
