Refurbished Values

Which value resorts and buildings have been refurbished recently? We are planning a short stay at one so we can book our August trip with free dining. Any help is appreciated!!

Pop is the newest of the value resorts. We just returned from two one night stays at Movies. I found that the rooms at pop are bigger, and movies definitely needs a new paint job. If you plan on using the pool, Movies main pool is under rehab right now. Hope this helps some.

Dh and I stayed in a refubished room at All Star Music ,Calypso building #10 during our vacation in September we stayed there 7 nights and on the 8th night we moved to the Family Suites to try them out.

The refubishment of the standard rooms in the Calypso buildings (which are preferred) and the Jazz Buildings (those are the buildings where the Family Suites are also located) are almost finished with their refurbishment.

We loved the reburished rooms!

All-Star Music Resort – Conversion of Calypso buildings to Family Suites continues. All work had been expected to be completed by October 13, but that date has not been met. All buildings not containing Family Suites will be renovated between January and June, 2007.

All-Star Sports Resort – All buildings will be renovated between June and November, 2007.


Another DIS member posted some photos of a newly refurbished room she stayed at in the Jazz building.

She had new furniture, new carpeting, new wallpaper, and a tan and baby blue bedspread.

Sorry the rooms are not bigger at Pop.

The beds are just moved toward the door at Pop a little more giving a little more room between the wall and the far bed.


Both Pop and the All Star rooms are 260 square feet.

The beds at the All Stars are movable.

the beds at Pop at bolted to the floor.

The far bed at an All Star is closer to wall. And the near bed is not as close to the doorway asit is at Pop

The far bed at Pop is pulled away from the wall more. and the near bed is closer to door.

For most people that would not make a difference but since I need an ECV
the bed being so near the door at Pop makes it more difficult for me to back my EVC in.

Thanks to all who responded.

We have stayed in the past at Movies, Music, and Pop. We found lots of smoke smells at Pop even though we were in a non-smoking room per medical reasons.

This is one of those extra trips so we will be happy no matter what. I just thought with the refurbished rooms, maybe the smoke smell would be eliminated.
