My daughter and I just went on a last minute, 4-night cruise this past month. We were able to take advantage of a Florida resident discount this time. Now we are looking to take a 3 or 4 night cruise at the beginning of December. If you book in advance and a discount becomes available, does anyone know if Disney will refund any differences? We kinda need to plan this coming trip in advance, so if we must pay the higher price we will.

Yes you can add the FL resident rate code to your already booked cruise and have the price difference refunded to you IF a FL resident rate becomes available.

Is there any website where I can check to see what is available with pricing, w/o getting "a free quote". I just want to be able to check myself on a nightly basis as I'm looking for another cruise with the FL rate for December as well.
Thanx :)

Not sure I understand your question. But if you are looking for FL discount for a particular cruise...just CALL DCL. Sometimes they don't publish the FL discount (they didn't for our 9/12 cruise) and you'd only know if you called.

Plus you can check weekly here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/discounts/discounts-cruise.htm
on the DIS, but like I say, DCL doesn't always announce/publish the discount right away.

Can anyone tell be what is required to get the FL Rates? We have a home in FL. Does you passport have to have a FL address?

What have you shown to qualify?

Thanks.

As long as one person in the cabin is a Florida resident there should be no problems.

Passports don't have addresses -- you'll need a FL drivers license or some other proof of residency, which is usually one of the following:

Florida state-issued ID card (must have Florida address)

Florida voter's registration card with corresponding picture ID

Florida college/university ID

Florida-based military ID

I booked with DU. Let them know I was a Florida Resident. When the florida resident rate came available they emailed me and started the refund process right away!

You can either call DCL directly or check on their website by imputting the FLR code to see if a FL resident rate comes up for the cruise you are looking for.

Part-year residents won't necessarily have any of the above. I would think a utility bill or some other proof that you reside at least part of the time in FL ought to suffice.

I just called DCL to ask them what they require to show as POR and was told all the above are acceptable or even a copy of a lease agreement.

This might be another matter of which CM you talk with. We were told that a FL ID card was required. (yes, the other cards also suffice) However, a rental agreement and/or utility bill in your name is sufficient to get the ID card. You go to the driver's license place with proof of ID and can be issued a FL ID card without surrendering your out of state driver's license.

There are several web sites that post FL res rates when they become available. Since the ones I know of are run by TAs, we're not allowed to post them here. My TA computer tracks all ressies and will automatically get me any discounts that I qualify for or any rate reductions that come out. Typically, FL resident rates become available 60-90 days before a sailing if the ship is not as full as DCL would like.

Curious ... if FL resident rates are announced for a cruise date, and you're within the 75 day penalty period, can you take advantage by upgrading to a higher category stateroom? I know sometimes not all categories are included in the special rates.

I believe you can. My friend had a paid in full GTY cat 12 and when the residents rate came out, she was given the option to upgrade to a cat 9 or 11 for just a few dollars.

FL res. rates are normally announced close to sail date so you are within the penalty period, but since you are not cancelling anything, only modifying, yes you can change to a higher category. DCL would rather you change to the higher cat. than to refund you money.
