Refund For Ticket

I'd like to purchase a MYW ticket for my niece for your upcoming trip as a surprise. My SIL is planning on making a room only reservation, but that could change if a discount package comes along. If she does end up booking a package, can we get a refund on the ticket? Has anyone ever done this, bought tickets and then switched to a package?

You can not get a refund on the ticket. The only thing Disney allows is a trade up to a more expensive ticket.
