Gigi: thanks.
PC service: Moldova in the 90's. A place with lots of cheap local plonk, rampant drug abuse, and people who frequently will make jokes of the absurdity of their current botched place in history. A country never meant to be a country. You should be proud of said niece; I would have loved to have been sent to Kazakstan. (By the way, what did she think of Borat? The shots of village life were actually filmed in Romania I believe and were equivalent to my assigned village in Moldova.) The job thing, well lots of RPCVs end up in DC for a few years or grad school. Good luck on the job hunt.
let's see... she thought borat unfairly portrayed a country that she absolutely loves...
and she just called to tell me that she has an interview for a fellowship in NYC schools teaching and after five years she will have her masters... plan b is moving to seattle and working at the university (also has some interviews lined up there) and plan c is trinity in dublin for her masters... but not this year... she'll see where a&b get her first!
