Refrigerators @ Poly???

Is there a refrigerator in all rooms at the Poly, or do I need to request one before arrival, or at check in? About how big are they?

I believe there are refrigerators in all rooms at deluxe resorts so you will not need to request one.

The fridges are your standard dorm size fridge. Small cube ones.

The Poly should have fridges in all the room now--if for some reason they don't, call housekeeping, and they will bring one up free of charge.

We were at the Poly i December, not in rooms, request one from housekeeping and they will bring one "when available". Ours came at the end of the first day. Sounds like if one isn't available, you wait for whenever. Don't know if requests are honored or not before arriving. They are very small, 6about 16 cans of pop fills it!

We were at the Polynesian at the end of February and there was no refrigerator in our room.

We need one for insulin so have been getting them for years but have always had to call other than the last couple of times we were in Rapa Nui. Those rooms did have a refrigerator already in them but they are accessible rooms. Those refrigerators are also a little larger.

Anyway, we were in Samoa this trip. I called and one was delivered in an hour or two.

I don't think they are already in the rooms as every day there seemed to be a march of the refrigerators in the hallways. There would be one or two out in the hall everyday.....waiting to be picked up would be my guess.

Maybe the refrigerator in all deluxes is just an internet rumor???

We will be at the Poly on the 2nd of April. I too am a diabetic who uses insulin. I'm sure I won't have a problem getting a fridge. I just don't get it. With the prives that they get for the rooms each of us could easily buy those 50 dollar refrigerators. Why aren't they in all of the rooms yet? Lisa

I doubt it is the cost of the refrigerator but rather the cost of running them plus maybe the extra time it takes for mousekeepers to clean them that might be a factor.

But really, most nicer hotels do NOT have refrigerators in the rooms in our experience unless it is a minibar. I've always been grateful that the Polynesian doesn't have those!

But I agree that you don't have to worry.

does anyone know if the refrigerators have a little freezer area? I want to be able to put a reusable ice pack in it each night. Thanks!

We went in november and requested it ahead of time since we had medicine to cool. Called at 1pm, 2pm... got back at 845pm.. still no refrig.. didn't show up till almost 10pm!!!!!!!!!!!
