Can I rent a refrigerator for my room? I'll be staying at the AKL in November. If so, what is the daily rate? How big is the refrigerator (college dorm room size? bigger? smaller?)? How do I go about requesting this?

Thanks for your help!

You can rent one that is dorm room size for about $10.00 a day. (It may have increased) Many regulars pack a soft side cooler and ziplock bags and fill the bags with ice frequently. It really is most economical and if it is only for drinks and munchies I think it is sufficient. We use to rent one every time we went but they are so small and by the time you rent it for the week you could purchase one at walmart.

Good point about the cost. We have plenty of soft sided coolers, too. Its about time they got some use. Thanks!

Oh I heard at the GF the refrig are no cost? Am I mistaken?

They are only free if you are staying in concierge. Of course you are paying for it anyway if you are paying to stay in concierge! LOL!

Does this include the Tower Club at the CR? I thought the CM I spoke with told me it was included.

elbo :bounce:

My DH and I drink lots of bottled water and we are bringing a bottle or two of wine to celebrate our Ann. with.
Do you think I could use the fridge in the minibar. Just put back the sodas and stuff in the morning after I take out my water from the night before.
If not do you think they would frown on an elec. cooler ( the car kind with a converter)in the room?
The mini bar would be perferable, because I would feel funny bringing a lg. cooler through the lobby of the YC.
I have never stayed at a deluxe and dont know what to expect.
Anyone have any answers to my silly ??

Thanks

I would ask the front desk about the mini-bar. Some mini-bars are setup now to electronically charge anytime something is taken out.

I Just called the YC and the CM told me that the only time they would charge me is if they had somthing missing when they go to restock. She also said that I could use it to put my own stuff in there. Although she did not sound thrilled with the idea.
I guess they would rather have me rent the other fridge for $10 a day.
I dont know how much room I will have but, even if I can fit two or three bottles over night and then a bottle or two of wine the day of our Ann. so we could have it for when we get back that night would be great.;)

Disney has not gone to the auto dispensing kind of mini bars that charge yet. (Actually I see less and less of these as I travel and I thought they would be VERY popular).

I just buy the same brands Disney uses. (i.e., Miller Lite, Diet Coke and swap my hots for thier colds) I do this all over the country with the Diet Cokes.

At the Wilderness Lodge and I can only assume other hotels, a fridge is $10 a day unless you are in Concierge or "better" for lack of a better term. (Suite etc...)

We used to get a styrofoam cooler at Walmart or the local food store for a few dollars then use the ice machines in the hallways to fill them up. Worked fine for us and to be honest, if I had to fill it more than once a day it would be a lot. Saved us $110 last year. (11 day stay)
