refrigerator question

I've just returned from WDW and I had a refrigerator at the Polynesian. It was the best thing we could have done! It did have a small freezer section that we could use to freeze ice packs. It certainly didn't work as well as the one at home, but it was okay. We found that if we put the two freezer packs next to each other (rather than stacking them), they froze much better.

In the refrigerator, we had 2 half gallons of whole milk for my 1 year old and 1 half gallon of 2 percent milk for my 3 year old. We also had several 12 oz. bottles of soda, several 12 oz. bottles of water and some little mini kids bottles of water in there as well. Oh, we also had string cheese and cheese slices in there. I know that we saved a ton money on buying water and soda. It was so worth it. We will definitely rent a refrigerator again!

As for baby formula, I would definitely buy those little 6 or 8 oz. cans of premade. The convenience is so worth the extra cost! Then you don't have to worry about finding water, wondering if the baby will like the taste etc. Also, technically, you are supposed to put the water in the bottle BEFORE the formula (because the formula displaces the water and so the measurement ratio isn't right anymore), but when you do it that way, the formula doesn't mix properly unless the water is warm enough.

ok so how big are they really. We are staying at the Grand Floridian and have a fridge, how big is it and what type of milk, soda, water etc will it hold

Its what you would call a dorm size fridge about 2-3 ft high with a couple shelves and some storage on the door. Some have a freezer and some do not - more like a mini bar. Even some of the larger ones don't have the door on the freezer area making it difficult to freeze anything. If you have a baby it may be worth the 10.60 per night but otherwise your probably fine wth a styrafoam cooler.

I also LOVED the 6 or 8 oz rtf cans for day trips or vacation when older dd was a baby. Once on a trip when 1st dd was about 6mos we ordered the rtf glass bottles - all you did was screw on a nipple. Expensive but for a first vacation it was worth it (YMMV).

I learned alot and when youngest dd was born we did powder asap, LOL.
