Refrigerator Ice Maker at OKW ???

One of the plusses for us at OKW is the icemaker. My question is, does anyone know if the icemaker has a filter connected to it, or is the water the same as tap water. I am not overly fond of the tap water, so I just want to make sure the ice maker will be a good thing.

I wish DVC had put icemakers in all of the larger refrigerators. I am sure that would mean more maintenance issues, but it is still something I would truly appreciate having.

No filters as far as I have seen on the ice maker I believe it is just straight tap water. Especially since the ice tastes the same as teh water coming from the tap to my family and myself that is why we just bring bottled water from home and freeze them.

I do that at the resorts that don't have an icemaker myself, but was hoping the one at OKW would be suitable for ice for drinks in the room. I know a lot of folks don't care much about ice one way or the other, but I like my drinks cold.

I think they have an ice tray so you could pour some of your bottled water into the ice tray and make your own ice then you don't have to worry about it. Plus you then know the water will taste fine and won't ruin the taste of your drink.

I haven't seen ice trays at OKW. Maybe bring a couple of your own and use the bottled water or bring a filter for the tap water.

Are there ice machines, or do you have to make your own ice? DH likes lots of ice in his soda...

There are ice machines at each of the bus stops for people to use.

Of course, one would expect that the water source for those is the same that feeds the ice makers in OKW and the taps.

Yes, there are ice machines at the bus stops and ice makers in the fridges at OKW, and both would use tap water, not bottled water or filtered water.

That's possible I suppose. I never use anything but the ice in the ice maker anyway.
