Refresh Memory on Cancellation/Transfer Points

So I booked a vacation for May with 100 Transfer Points, and the rest (116) being my Points........am I not correct that so long as I cancel more than 30-days before the check-in date, I get all 'my' points back---but I lose the Transfer points? If that is the case, what is the timeline to use the Transfer Points? FYI--I got the transfer in July of this summer--so curious that if I cancel, how long would I have to use those 100 points.

Transferred points retain their original home resort and UY, so you’d have until the end of the Transfer points’ UY to use them. You don’t automatically lose them, they’re simply stuck in their UY.

Regarding your points, you may check on your banking deadline if you may not use during your current UY.

And remember, depending upon the use year of the transferred points, you may be able to bank them, if you are within their banking window. Banked points can not be transferred, but transferred points can be banked.

If the transferred points are in a different use year than my points am I still able to combine them for a single reservation? Also, I believe I would have to call MS to use the transferred points?

As long as both points are eligible for the trip, yes, you can use in a single reservation. That is why you want to be sure that when you get a transfer, they work for the trip you want.

If you are booking 7 months or less, they seem to work online. But, they don’t during the home resort period, assuming the points you are getting are the same home resort as you own…so you do need to call.
