Refinancing question

Did your loan officer come to your house to close the refinancing or did you have to go to their office? Thanks.

We had the closing officer come to our house -- usually they're flexible about coming to you if it's more convenient than going to their offices.

Our loan officer actually came to my DW's work..Since we work opposite shifts it was either this or do it on the weekend...

They came to our house at a time that was convenient for us. It was great!

We had what we thought was a loan officer, but she was just a notary. A couple of questions came up and she called her lawyer to get answers, one I figured out! She was next to useless, luckily we were well informed. It was convenient with her coming to the house, but you may want to verify who is coming.

At my bank, we do whatever is most convenient for the customer. We have two mortgage lenders who meet with customers outside of the bank all the time. We'd never send someone who wasn't responsible for the loan. Sending a notary? WOW! Kind of makes you wonder what kind of service you'd get after the closing.

I did everything over the phone. They Fed-x the paperwork and I returned after signing everything. I have never seen a loan officer for the 5 closings we have had.

The bank is Wells Fargo which is quite large. Our previous mortgage was with them and the loan officer and lawyer were great, they had given us their cel phones. I just wish that they had said in advance that she was just a notary.

we3lovedisney -- you mean you didn't have to sign everything with a witness? Did you have to have all the papers notarized? Did you go through lendingtree or something or use the same bank every time? All our closings have been at a lawyer's office or bank. I've always found it annoying that I didn't have everything in advance to look over -- I would love being able to control it myself like you apparently did.

I have always had to show ID and meet in person for the 3 closings I've had.
My mtg. guy said they WILL come to the house. Now we just have to wait for the appraisal.
