I always volunteer to be a Disney deputy whenever I check in, since catching rule-breakers and bringing them to justice is a really fun thing for me to do while I'm on vacation. But the Cms always tell me to just keep my own crew in line and that will be good enough. However, the moment Disney asks for vigilante volunteers to form a posse whose purpose is to enforce Disney's own rules, I'm there!

I'm with the others that view the mug as a souvenier with benefits. I figure it's more than paid for itself by the end of the trip. So when i get checked in and settled that's usually the first thing I go buy.

If you stay at BWV, where can you fill your mug (with soda)? Can you do this yourself, or do you have to wait in line for a CM to do it?

We were in VB in March, and then just went back last week. In March we bought a mug and brought it back with us this time in case it was the same one. It wasn't, but the new one has logos for all the DVC resorts. Hmmmmmm. So now I'm wondering if we can use it at VWL when we stay in October.

Disclaimer - we asked first before assuming we could refill our old mug, even if it said 2005. They told us at Bleachers that we had to buy a new mug. So we did. Also, we got ice for my children's sippy cups and were stopped by a CM who was concerned we were filling them with soda. Nope, just ice, for the juice boxes we bought to go. So they are looking out for the rule breakers.
