I saw the previous thread was closed because people started bickering. That was to be expected. Martin, see your previous thread if you can.
The refillable mugs are meant to be used on that trip only. However, many people bring the mugs and re-use them....and get away with it.

The mugs are good in the resort you purchased them for the length of your current stay.

Don't buy the mugs from your min-bar. You'll get hit with a service charge.

Disney isn't currently enforcing the rules. People are filling up mugs from other resorts, old mugs, 7-11 mugs even bread bags. The current policy seems to be free soda but that could change. There are rumors Disney is going to start putting bar codes on the mugs. You'll only get soda after you scan your mug.
