I read in a guidebook that anyone using a dining plan receives a refillable mug, which is a change since my last visit to WDW in 2011. Is anyone familiar with these mugs? What are they made out of? Where can you fill them, and with what? Are they easy to carry around in the parks, or are they something you'd keep at your resort instead? Generally I prefer to tour the parks with as little "stuff" to carry as possible,

Thanks in advance for any info!

Each person age 3 and up will be able to get a mug at their resort as part of the dining plan. They are plastic, and they contain an RFID chip. This chip will activate the soda machines at your resort (and any other Disney resort)for the duration of your stay. They are not used for free refills in the parks.

You can get sodas, coffee, tea and hot chocolate with your mug.

I'm not sure when refillable mugs were first introduced but we had them in 2010 on the dining plan. They are plastic and you can fill them at the refillable drink station at your resort......coffee, hot chocolate, soft drinks, etc.... We never/ rarely bring them to the parks. You cannot use them to refill drinks at the parks.

If you had the dining plan in 2011, you would have had the refillable mugs for free as part of your package. You have to get them at your resort counter service and you just tell them you are on the dining plan and they come off as entitlements. Each person in your party gets one.

I believe 2012 was the first year the mugs were included in the regular DDP. Prior to that, they were only included in the QSDP and the DxDDP. :goodvibes

We received one with our DDP in 2007, and yes it was the regular dining plan.

Is there milk or juice that you can get with the refillable mug? My daughters don't really drink soda.

Only minute maid lemonade light & blue powerade.

During our trip last August, I drank SO much of that blue Powerade!! But I really think it helped me not get dehydrated in the dreadful Florida summer heat! I filled my mug with it every day as we headed out to the parks and then a couple times each evening after returning back to our room. I only filled my mug with pop once or twice the whole week. I actually can't wait to drink that blue stuff again this August! :thumbsup2

My kids dont drink sodas either, you can also get hot chocolat and like the pp said limonade and powerade.

Last time we were at WDW in 2011 my husband couldn't get enough of the raspberry lemonade. I don't think it's available in Canada - we searched for it when we returned but had no luck. When we travel to the U.S. we always pick up a couple of containers of Minute Maid Raspberry Lemonade because we're pretty sure that's what we were served at WDW.

Anyone know if it's still served there? If my DH can fill his refillable mug with the stuff while we're there (in just over a month!) he'll be thrilled.

Just got my Disney docs...refillable mugs included in the regular dining plan :)

Pomegranete (sp?) lemonade is at most now. It's delicious too though.

Not all food courts are the same. AKL is one of the only with Cherry Coke :)

I sure hope we can still get our chocolate milk on the dining plan and not just soda. That is the drink of choice when there.

You can get your chocolate milk from the refrigerated section of the food court when you purchase a quick service meal.

So glad to here this. I don't drink tea or coffee and soda for breakfast doesn't cut it.
