I read on the Sea World board that the mug you purchase at Busch Gardens to refill for like 99 cents is good not only at Sea World, but at IOA and Universal.

Does anyone know if that's true? I hate to bring the mug to IOA to find out we can't use it and have to lug it around all day for nothing.

That is not true. I have seen it happen as a random act of kindness but it is not a rule or something that should be expected. As a matter of fact, it is a rare random act of kindness...

I read that too but not sure how true it is since they are owned by different companies??? Hope someone can answer for sure...either way we have cups from just about every amusement park lol. Busch Gardens, Sea World, Kings Dominion, Universal......

If this is true then I apologize. But I have never heard of such a thing...

I'm in the same boat as you....wondering why any amusement park that charges $8.00 for refillable mugs would let you use someone else's.....I would be to afraid to ask lol

When we were at Seaworld last year we were told they refill IOA/Universal cups but IOA/Universal does not refill there cups. Seaworld and Busch Gardens are owned by the same corporation so they do refill each others cups.

Thanks, at least we know we only need our UNI mugs, though I prefer our newer BG mugs since the have a handle like a bucket.

I don't believe they have any way of checking, but I believe the refillable mugs are meant to be used for that day - like the meal deal. I don't think if you are there for a week that it is meant to be refilled every day you visit, although I also dont' think they have a way to check this.

They don't check, and there is still some confusion on this topic. At one time, they sold mugs that were "good for life", I still have a couple from years ago and was told at the time of purchase that they could be used any time I visited the parks. Same for the popcorn tubs. Now it seems as though they don't sell those mugs anymore but I haven't had anyone confirm that for certain. What I do know is that they will allow you to bring them back and refill them regardless.

i have friends that have been going this summer and have used their UO mugs at sw.
and the mugs at sw were honored at UO parks.

i'm not talking about the cups/mugs that are a part of the daily beverage promo.

We have a refillable "Mummy" Canteen from Universal. Should we bring it back for refilling this summer?

send an email to guest services to get the official answer.
that way you would know in advance if it would be allowed.

On the other hand, if they don't take it, we can always buy a new refillable mug and just refill our old one from it so we can get two different kinds of soda.

We ended up bringing our Mummy canteen and we got a lot of "Wow! that is old!" or just long stares at it from people who had never seen it but they filled it up everytime and that thing holds alot of liquid!
