DD and SIL drink a lot and they always buy a refillable mug when they go any place. They wanted to know if they buy a refillable mug at the resort can it be used at the parks and can it be used at any resort? If not, do the parks sell refillable mugs and are they "park specific"?

Refillable mugs are no longer resort specific, so the one you buy at FW will be good at any of the resorts. The resort mugs are not good at the parks, however.

Thanks. That was a really fast reply. Guess I'm not the only one dreaming of our next trip to FW :goodvibes

If you want to save $ on drinks in the parks, bring some of the single serve drink flavor packs and Disney will give you a free cup of ice water at the counter service places.

I bring a paper cup and dip out of the big fountain at Epcot. There are some interesting flavors in that water.

The mugs are good for coffee, tea, and soft drinks right?

Right. Coffee and tea at the Meadows trading post, I think soft drinks at the Meadows Pool refreshment stand if you go when they are open, and Coffee tea and soft drinks at Trail's End.

To save on soda costs at Epcot I have a "sample" cup fitted with a hose that feeds a camel-pack strapped to my calf that I fill at the Ice Station Cool with Smart Watermelon from China. Yum! LOL

get hot chocolate in the refillable mugs as well or just the coffee and tea? Also do you purchase them at the Meadows or at Trails End? On all of our trips to the fort this is something we haven't done but would like to do this time. Thanks.

Jim...I bought new cups last year at the Fort...are they only good for the year in which you buy them or are they forever lasting like the old ones??

I know you asked Jim, but, you are only supposed to use the cup during the stay on which it was purchased. There is nothing, however, to indicate that the cup was purchased today or last year. If you want guilt-free fill-ups though, use your old cup from before the "length-of-stay" rule was imposed... you are grandfathered-in!

Stop answering questions directed to me. Just because you look like Santa doesn't mean I can't pay the elves to beat you up.

Official Disney doctrine states that the mugs are only good for the length of your stay. You may do what your conscience dictates. I have never seen anyone handcuffed and removed from property for filling an old mug. When Bobby was over to the house last night, he said there was no such thing as a clause which would grandfather in your old mugs. Sam Brown and Johnny Lasseter were in agreement.
