Does Ft Wilderness have the refillable souvenir mug like the other resorts? If they do, does anybody know what the cost is?

They can be filled with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soda, or lemonade at the Trail's End (self-serve, except for the hot chocolate).

They can be filled with coffee or hot tea at the Meadow's Trading Post.

They can be filled at the pool snack bar, when it's open.

What about soft drinks/sodas?

Yes, at the Trail's End and at the pool snack bar when it's open.

So, we would not be able to use the mugs at The Settlement store? We would have to go over the restaurant or to the Meadows? :drinking1

We have had ours for years, when we are getting on the boat to go to a park we stop in and get a drink, when we return (if they are open we do the same thing, except with no ice... get more coke and put ice in a cup at the campsite and it at least feels like you have a little more... we bought a bag at animal kingdom that is a sling bag, but it has a place to hook the cup when not in use... very nice to have in the parks, stop off at a water fountain and get water.... and sometimes you are lucky enough to get one of the vendors to give you ice... just depends on how much you plan on camping at FW if it is worth it for you... but for us... they have been there weight in gold.

No, the Settlement does not have drinks. I suppose it's because it's so close to the Trail's End? :confused3

cydilou01,
You can use them for years???? I had heard that buy did not believe it. I thought it was a joke. Cool to know.

Officially, they are for the length of your stay only. You may not realize it, but you may have opened a real can of worms now.

OMG! Do not let the other boards see this post, I've seen WW3 break out over refilling your mugs for more then one trip. For what I understand, to some it makes you a serious criminal. :lmao:

I was told that I could not get hot chocolate in my mug at Trails End :confused3 . She told me I could go to Wilderness Lodge to get hot chocolate in my mug. :rotfl2: It would take less time to take my cart back to my camper and make my own than catch a bus (with 5 kids) to go to the Wilderness Lodge!

When I bought our mug at the Meadows pool, I asked them about using on other trips. They said they fill mugs that are so worn out you can barely tell if it is a Fort Wilderness mug or not. ;)

Yes, we've been told to bring ours back on our next trip. I think they really don't care at FW because it is so much more difficult to get your $12 worth of drinks. And I don't think there are that many people that buy them.

Lots of good information! Just one question left: what is the size of the cup? How many ounces? Thanks!

I'd like to buy some mugs when we go in a few weeks. Does anyone know the morning hours of the stores where we can get coffee? It would be great to have an idea before I start walking around ft wilderness trying to find coffee first thing in the morning!

Probably we should just bring a coffee pot anyway, I'm guessing.

So, let me get this straight. You buy the souvenir cup for 12.00 then you can refill it for free?

Yup! :thumbsup2 You can refill it for free, from the same resort you bought it from, for your entire stay! All the resorts have them, all with their own logos on them!

That is pretty cool! Do they have something similar in the parks? Or do you have to pay full price?
