question for the crowd. If we have a single vacation that spans multiple resorts are you supposed to have to buy a refillable mug from each resort?

Would seem to me that you wouldn't but was curious if there were any experiences that said otherwise.

(example... check-in Sunday at SSR, move to OKW on Wed, fly home on Saturday).

i think there are new mugs out there now that aren't resort specific. someone else can verify but i do believe that if you buy one you can use it at all resorts.

Ok here is the "offical" way to use mugs:

The current official policy is that refillable mugs can only be used at the resort where they were purchased, for the duration of the stay in which they were purchased.

Not wanting to start a fight, this can be a hot subject, but just stating what is listed on all ears web site.

The mugs are now identical at all resorts - we had planned on buying two sets as we had a split stay. They used to be resort specific but no longer are - I would have had no problem buying a second set but it just didn't make any sense, ecologically or for any other reason to buy four more identical mugs. They are stamped 2007 though so I'm assuming that 2008 will have new ones.

The old mugs said "Refillable only at location purchased. Free refills until the end of your stay." or some very close variation on this (I checked our Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans mugs).

The new ones say "Free refills available at our Resort Beverage Islands until the end of the stay in which the mug was purchased."

When talking about the Walt Disney World "Resort", they are referring to the entire complex - parks, resorts, etc. What you describe is still the same stay that the mug was purchased. You are still at the Walt Disney World Resort whether you are at Caribbean, Pop Century, Grand Floridian, Old Key West, Beach Club, or whichever is your location of choice.

Now how are the CMs to know if the mug was purchased on this trip or the last one you made just a few months ago? Assuming that the mug design did not change.:confused3

When you have a larger refrigerator at the DVC resorts, there really isn't much of a need for a refillable mug. It's a lot cheaper to just get the sodas you prefer to drink (or coffee or tea) and fill up your one glass or drink right from the bottle or can.

They won't. That is an on-your-honor thing! When you purchase, you should be accepting the conditions printed on the mug and posted near the mugs.
