Refillable mugs questions

I'm staying at OKW and BWV, but we can answer for all the DVC at WDW.
Where can we buy them?

Where can we use them, and the general location of those places in the resort?

Do we have to hand them over to get refilled or can we do it ourselves?

Besides coffee and Coke products, what can we get in them?

When is earliest and latest that the "refill stations" open?

Do they use the "scanner" on the bottom so you can't use an old mug?

Are there different pictures on the mugs within each reort?

Can we get one that just says DVC/the name of the resort?

Any other pertinent info?

Sorry, I can't answer any of your questions (not really a mug user) but I can add one: since you'll have a 'fridge, wouldn't buying some softdrinks be even cheaper?

This link may help you with some of your questions : http://www.allearsnet.com/din/mugs.htm

As for the scanner. I was just recently (Feb) at the POP Century resort and purchased a refillable mug. There was no scanner at the bottom of the mugs. They were still working on the honor system. At POP, iced tea and lemonade were also options as well as coke and blue raspberry slushies. But I don't think many resorts offer the slushies.
At OKW, you can get your mug refilled at Good's To Go which is open until 10 pm I believe.

You buy them at the food court within the resort you are staying at.

Where can we use them, and the general location of those places in the resort? You use them within the resort that you bought them.

Do we have to hand them over to get refilled or can we do it ourselves? You fill them yourselves.

Besides coffee and Coke products, what can we get in them? You can get iced tea, lemonade, hot chocolate & water along with the coffee and Coke products

When is earliest and latest that the "refill stations" open? I believe this is 6am to 11pm. Others may know better than me :)

Do they use the "scanner" on the bottom so you can't use an old mug? No scanner that I've ever seen. It's all on the honor system.

Are there different pictures on the mugs within each reort? Each resort has a different mug but only one picture within each resort.

Can we get one that just says DVC/the name of the resort? I don't know what the DVC mugs look like. I'm sure someone else can help you there!

Any other pertinent info?

I'll know after my first trip home in September! :sunny:

When I consider buying a 2-liter of Coke at $1,20 or so plus tax for 6 days, coffee+filters, and other drinks that my stepson will not tell me that he wants until we get there, plus the fact that's a neat souvenir that can be re-used at home,it's worth it. My stepson can be told that with mug, he has certain options only.

Does anyone have info regarding the mugs at Vero Beach? How much, what drinks are available and where, and what type of mug is it (can it fit in a car holder or is it the bulky-type). Thanks ::MinnieMo Donna

when I got the mug at bwv and went to get it filled they just handed me a
regular paper cup full of pop to dump in my mug. most spots on the boardwalk (bakery, coffee stop, pizza) would give you a pop when you showed the mug. The independent restaurants did not accept the mug.
