Refillable mugs on dining plan

HI all. I know this has to be answered somewhere, but I can't find it. We'll be on the QS dining plan in January, so we'll have the refillable mugs. I know if you purchase the mugs, they're supposedly only good at your resort. But if I'm on the dining plan, can I use them at other resorts? We're staying at Pop, but we always do lunch at the Contemporary since our 5-year old is obsessed with the monorails (and we like the food). Can we bring our mugs to be filled there with lunch? What about the refillable drink stations around the park (I saw a listing somewhere online - maybe allears?)? Is that ok or a no-no?

Thanks for your help!

You cannot use them for refills at the parks (you CAN fill them with water if you go to a place that has a drink refill station - but only water).

Thanks for the reply. I kind of figured at the parks, but what about the Contemporary? I suppose it's probably not worth carrying them around so we can use them at lunch.

I'm just curious as to why you would need to fill them at the Contemporary for lunch? You say you're on the dining plan. That already includes a drink for everybody. Why do you need the mugs?

Yes! You can always take your mugs and pour your drink into them if it's to make them easier to carry!

I had planned to carry 1 mug with us around just to refill with water. My thought was we could use it at end of day on our way back to the room and then in the morning and not have to drop the mugs back to our room. It was annoying to carry because it drips (even though I used a carabiner clip and a lanyard). We ended up with a regular waterbottle.

That said, we drink mostly water so ymmv. If we drank more pop/juice/hot chocolate/coffee/whatever, it would possibly have been worth the bother.

Like others said, on DDP we get drinks at every meal so it really negates the need for the mug. The mug is the same design at every resort but the sign clearly states it is for use at your own resort only.

Technically the info regarding the mugs is that they are for use "at your hotel for the length of your stay." They all look the same, and there are no "drink" police to ask if you are a resort guest. Although many are saying the drink with meal negates the use of the mug, whenever we ate at our own resort, we used our mugs and took a bottle of something with us for the drink part of the meal to be used later in the parks or at night at the hotel.
