Refillable Mugs Good at Other Mods?

I tried to post about this at lunchtime, but the post never seems to have shown up. I was looking at the details of CSR on Disney's website and found the following info on the right side bar.

Purchase a refillable mug, available at the Pepper Market and La Tienda, to enjoy unlimited hot and cold beverages from Riverside Mill and Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter throughout your stay.

I thought a refillable mug was good only at the resort that you were staying at and not good at any other resorts. Can anyone shed some light on this. I have never heard this before. Maggie

Not there now. Probably a typo. The quote doesn't say you can refill it at the Pepper Market or in the CBR food court.

Basically gives you the to buy locations from CSR but the to use locations from POR-POFQ.

Just got back Sat and while staying at POFQ and WL there were people using mugs from many other resorts. I didn't see a sign at POFQ about using the mugs at other resorts, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one. I have mugs from almost every resort and I keep buying more everytime we go back. No one seems to care and no one is stopping people from using them. I'm not buying anymore mugs. WL has had the same mugs for years now. If I can't bring myself to take my old mugs back and use them again - (sometime I do have a conscience) then I'm just going to drink beer. Or milk.

It is there right now. It does look like the tips rotate through a variety of things so you might hit refresh a couple of times and see if it comes up. This could be interesting if it is true.

I doubt if it's true, but I sure wish it was. I'm doing a split stay at POFQ and CS in December and would love to buy one of the large mugs to use at both places. Speaking of which, I read on one of these threads that CS has a large 64 oz refillable mug for like $19.99. Do the other resorts have the same large mug? I looked at the little mugs at POP when I was there in May and decided it wouldn't even last until I got back to my room, so didn't buy it.

Anyway, this is quite interesting.....I certainly don't want to do anything that isn't 'allowed' nor do I have any intention of bending rules. We had decided to not buy the mugs this year as we plan on having breakfast at rotating spots so wouldn't use them in the morning. We are driving and bringing our own drinks down, since we'll have a fridge. We are trying to eliminate all of the soda drinking. However, if this be true, we may reconsider the mugs, so that when we go to other CS (resorts), for breakfast, we can fill up with a cup of coffee.

Of course it's not true. Re-read the quote.

It makes no sense for a CSR guest to have to drive to POR-POFQ to refill their mugs. Notice they don't list any CSR places to refill the mug.

The same tip is at the POFQ page. Makes less sense for guests of POFQ to have to drive to CSR to buy their mugs.

I guess that proves some of the people who write the copy have never been to some of the resorts and they don't know as much about WDW as most of us.

This a good pickup but really more of a "blooper" than a policy change.

Sure would be nice if it were true!! And if it worked that way for the values. I'm going again this week and hate the thought of having to buy yet another mug for our stay at POP. We have at least two mugs from almost every stay. I have two from Music I would love to use at Pop, but don't think I'm gutsy enough to. ah well...looks like the number of my mugs is going to be about 18 now!!!

I agree. The refrigerators have put a new spin on things. Those mugs only hold a thimble full anyway. We bought them at POFQ and I know we didn't get our moneys worth. A lot of times at the mods your room is so far away from the food court that you can't just grab your cup for a quick coke. At breakfast it's a pain because when you use your mug for coffee you have to run it back to the room unless you want to drag it around the parks all day. I've got about 40 of them now. I'm selling them for 11.99 + tax.

Flame suit on in case I am wrong. I think you are allowed to do this at the three all star resorts because they are sort of considered one resort?.?..

I do believe you can use your mugs at sister resorts like the All Stars and Riverside/FQ.
I was at Riverside in 03 and there was a sign saying that it could be used at FQ as well.
