Ok, I know this is a dumb question.

But I'm planning on buying refillable mugs during our stay at Pop Century. The question is: How many should I get?

My youngest doesn't drink that much ~ So, can she share one with her sister? Or is it strictly one mug per person??

Thanks for your help!

I'm really glad that you posted this. I thought I was just being cheap. Last year we bought 4 mugs. DD 2 & 6. I thought it was a waste of money because the 2 year old hardly drank at all. And the rest of us had maybe 1 drink a day. We got them mainly for souveniers (this year I'll be getting the smaller ones so I can use them in the car). Although this is a great program set up by Disney and I wouldn't want to ruin it. I noticed that a lot of people were sharing without anything being said to them. I am going to be sharing with my 3 year old this year.

I don't think it matters who drinks out of them, just buy as many as you will use. I'm buying 2 for our family of 4.

OMG! The ONLY people who will care about this are on the DIS and more specifically, the resort board. PLEASE DON'T ASK THERE....you will be labeled for enternity.

We bought one and shared. ::yes:: I admit it. Not one person said a word!!!!!! If they cared, they would say they cared.
My 4 yr old didn't drink much. :)

If anyone wants a mug, I am glad to send mine. It's from POP.

Bwaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaa! This whole topic makes me laugh. Put on your flame retardent suits because I can feel the heat already! Let the show begin.

i am sure people with APs reuse their mugs in one year if they stay at the same resort. i am lucky in that i have a cousin who just got back from AKL, and i will be staying at AKL next week. she's given me her mugs! so that's another $24 i can spend on something else!

it's cool...
disney will be getting plenty of my money.

If you are back in time, send one to me. I sure could use one from AKL and Contemporary. :teeth:

On our trip, which we just returned from on Tuesday, we bought two mugs (actually 3 because someone stole my first one from the pool area, can you believe it?) and I shared them with my nieces. I would but drinks that we all liked and we just shared. It worked just fine.

As a family of 4, we usually only buy 1 mug! That's right, people... 1 mug! DH uses it primarily, and the kids drink out of it too.

You can tell I'm not too worried about germs!:teeth:

As for myself, I will have my water bottle that I will fill up at the beverage station with water!

OMG.... let me put my flame suit on!:earseek: :teeth:

I don't think sharing is much of an issue. The mugs don't hold a large quantity. I can refill mine twice in no time flat:D

I only have one child so sharing isn't an issue.

My sister and her family went with us on our last trip. There's no way she could have picked up just one mug for both of her kids. First of all they'd never want the same type of drink at the same time. If one wanted a coke the other would want punch. :p

For her family of four she got 3 mugs. She shared with her husband and the kids each had one of their own.

*snerking wildly and putting on a double layer of flame proof clothing*
Have you thought about forming a refillable mug trading club?

*more snerking*

I can almost feel the fire lapping at my toes! :p

i will be sharing with my 15 year old son. I mainly drink water. But i may have a couple of sips of whatever DS is drinking. I would buy my own. But i have to many cups in the cup board now. LOL

We always buy 5 mugs for myself, DH, 2 dds and ds. The thing I worried about though is that sometimes I didn't want to carry ds mug with us since he drinks out of a sippy cup still so I would fill mine up and pour it into his cup and then fill mine up. Even though I paid for a cup for him I wondered if people thought I was ripping off Disney. It probably looked like I was cheating by using my cup to fill up his sippy cup but I really wasn't. I probably wouldn't have thought twice about it except that the boards always get crazy over the refillable mugs. One other thing I now have 10 GF refillable mugs. If they don't want you to use them after one stay they really should change the design from year to year!

I buy one mug for a family of 5. I actually don't buy them for the free drinks it is more of a souvineer that we have stayed at that resort. I bought our ASM one at one dinner we had in the food court for DH and everyone else had a drink already and that was the only time it was used.

I buy two for the 5 of us and that's plenty. My boys prefer milk with meals (make sure to buy it in the store, not food court/restaurants). We eat most of our meals at the parks, too. Usually, there are not more than two people who want to go get a drink at anyone time. The only place we really share is when everyone is at the pool.

I will trade you one ASSP mug for one POP mug

I am already sending my POP mug out, so the circulation has begun. :)

Now, where's the AKL one coming from?

I have some old *omg* Dixie Landing mugs! That was the trip (1999) when I paid *gasp* rack rate at DL and bought mugs for everyone in the family. No More -- we share. What is "snerking?" I too am donning the flame protective suit. Some folks just get their knickers in way too much of a twist over the mugs.
