refillable mugs at the french quarters?

I am planning on staying at the french quarters in aug/sept 2002. I never stayed on property before and want to buy one of these mugs that I hear about.
My question is:
Can you only refill the mug at the food court?
Is there a place close to the pool that you can fill it up or hike all the way back?

You can only fill up the mugs at the food court, but the food court is right next to the pool!

IIRC, the only place to refill your PO-FQ mug is at the FQ food court or the PO-R food court. The good news, however, is that the food court is very close to the pool. It's not right at the pool, but you could get a refill in less than 5 minutes roundtrip (if the lines aren't too long and you don't dawdle along the way, LOL )

PO-FQ is our favorite on-site moderate. It's very compact - everything is only a 5-10 minute walk away, including the food court, the pool, the bus stop, the boat to DD, and the lobby.

thanks for the speedy responses. Here is another questions to you experts. Which building would you request? We are a family of 4(2 kids ages-5&7).

There aren't any bad locations at FQ. We stayed in building 3 and loved it. It was still less than five minutes to pool, buses, food court, had a view of a courtyard, and was quiet. If you want to be where the action is, building five is right next to the pool or building four is closest to food court. Check out resort map at DIS home page to see for yourself. It's a great resort!

Other perks are being connected to POR (about 10 minute walk) and the boat to DD.

...and if you want to try something different and eat at the POR food court, you can use your mugs there too! That's a definite advantage!

If you request bldg. 5 and do not have a water view room, you will be facing a lovely courtyard area. If you have a water view you will be facing the pool or the river. It is a great location. Close to the pool, food court and bus stop.

I agree, that bldg. 4 is also convenient. It is closest to the food court area and bus stop.

We've stayed in bldg. 6, also, and it wasn't a bad location.

Be sure to take the walk along the river to the food court at PO-Riverside. Kids will see ducks, boats, etc. It is a fun walk and not too far. The food court there is also great. Lots of selections. You can also catch the bus over to PO-Riverside since it is the next stop on any bus that you catch, typically and then walk back.

We are all awaiting responses from people who visit PO-FQ the end of this month in regards to the food court there...it has been renovated but no one is sure what that means.

Remember you can use the pool at Riverside, also. They have a neat place for the kids to fish over by Old Man Island, too.

We just love FQ. It is so compact and easy to get around. You will enjoy yourself, I'm sure.
