Refillable Mugs at POFQ

To save you some trouble and flames, let me tell you what I found out when I posted the same question last month. Actually, no one flamed me; everyone was very nice. However, I was told that this question is definitely a sore spot and can become quite a powder keg.

There are at least two schools of thought on this:

1. Use them as you see fit. Some people were told when they bought them that the mug was good forever and they stick to that.

2. The mugs are only good for the visit on which they were purchased. You can probably still use them, but you'll be stealing (or, at the very least, be taking advantage of the system).

What it boils down to is you have to make the decision you're comfortable with.

Now having said all that, please don't flame me!

We were there this past Labor Day, when we purchased our mugs...and then stayed in October after our Disney cruise. We saw people with mugs from all different resorts filling up! I thought it was a little gutsy...lots of people seem to do it and we never saw any CM's repremanding anyone.

Official Disney Policy since day one: The mug is good for the stay at the resort that you bought it at. Not additional stays, not other resorts. Just that one stay. It's a length of stay mug.

people asking the original question is generally not the problem when it comes to this issue....remarks like the one above that are basically calling people liars are what tends to get people heated up...
the disney policy; whether official or not; is that there is no enforcement of any policy that may exist...disney NOW has signs that clearly state that the mugs are for unlimited refills for the resort which you purchased it at for the duration of the stay in which it was purchased. clear..simple
not true for many, many guests who purchased these mugs in years past: not only was that statement not in plain view, but many, if not most cm's
were telling guest that they were good for life.
I personally buy new mugs on each and every trip(10 sets of them now) even though I too was one of those that were told the mugs were good for life. You just have to do what you're comfortable with....most likely, nothing would be said to you whatever you fill(you should here some of the things people are using for cups) as disney themselves don't seem to care as much about it as some people on the internet do...

Facts are facts. That is official Disney policy whether you like it or not (key word - OFFICIAL). Now, whether or not the guests, CMs and your grandmother follow the official Disney policy is another thing.

When we stayed at Pop Century and Wilderness Lodge in Januray it clearly stated on the mugs that refills were for that stay only.

did you read my post? I'm having a hard time trying to figure out at what point that I disagreed with you? I only took issue with the fact the you seem to imply that the guest who state they were told something different than the official policy were liars!

I challenge you to tell me at what point I made any reference to liking or disliking any policy? I only stated that any policy they may have goes uninforced! can you argue to the contrary? I am also quite interested in knowing how you can be so certain as to disneys' official policies? from day one no less? are you a board member? policy maker? If you do operate in those capacities, then I apoligize: you are clearly in a better position than I to be properly informed on such matters..

Also, if CM's can't follow their own "official" policy; how can anyone expect guests' to follow it?

lastly, I would respectfully ask you to refrain from using references to my dearly departed grandmother...you didn't know her and have no right to make any reference to her; good, bad or indifferent...

Oh boy - another great discussion turning into an argument.

Say Goodbye!
