Does anyone know if you can use your refillable mugs from a previous trip? I have a few of these and was just looking for a way to save a little more money.

You asked one of the "hot" topics on the DIS boards. So be prepared for lots of answers.

They are putting up signs across WDW that state that the mugs are good for length of stay when purchased.

Where your mugs fit into this policy is not clear. The policy is not enforced about not using old mugs. So ask 10 people you will get 10 different answers about this.

Personally we like to buy new mugs. The new mugs are also coming with dates on them so maybe they will enforce the length of stay policy.

I bring our mugs back to. My husband laughs at me every time. We saw people with other Disney Hotel mugs. Maybe they split their stay or something. But you know what , this summer it was so crowded , that nobody would notice anyway. We have ASMusic mugs, and one Movies mug. We stayed at the Movies this year. It was fine. I would not fill any thing other than our mugs though. I have seen that to. But it is fun to buy a diff. one to cause sometimes they have a diff. style. Dont worry, go and have fun.

Hi Perdita -

We're south Florida neighbors! I'm in Fort Lauderdale! We just got back last weekend and we had a great time! We just bought mugs at ASMovies, and there was a sign over them that stated that they are good for the length of the stay. However, there were no dates anywhere on the mugs. Also, the cashier checking us out at dinner one night heard me mention getting the mugs filled and she said something to the effect of "Yes! Refill those mugs! Use them until the end of time for all we care." I don't personally see where it could hurt for you to bring them. What's the worst that can happen? Someone will tell you you're not supposed to be using them......so you apologize and don't use them again.

Have fun!

I think this debate has ended.

Has anyone ever been denied a refill?

It's simply a matter of Disney trading a week's worth of soda and coffee for thousands of dollars in park tickets, resort accomodations, food, and souvenirs. Disney will make that trade any day of the week and twice on Sunday! Any "dated mugs" are just to give us more fun in collecting and re-using them. The mugs are a PROMOTION and Disney is tickled pink when you bring them back. :) Of course they do take up room in your luggage...

If nobody has ever been denied a refill, how did this this debate begin? Sorry, I apologize for the confused "smiley" since I have also read a mug was good for only that visit at that resort. But I've come 180 degrees and I can appreciate the "enforcement" point of view. However, in my opinion such a "law-abiding" position just can not be maintained when nobody has ever been denied a refill in the history of the World. Regardless of signage or what appears on web sites, what matters is what actually happens in the food courts of WDW. (Whew, I hope this doesn't come across as epic or pompously profound  ).

Maybe someone has been denied a refill...

But if not, I'd say use 'em and re-use 'em "until the end of time." :)
