Refillable mugs and split stay

with the new pricing on refillable mugs, will I be able to use the mug at our second resort without paying again or having to reactivate them? Also, is Powerade available as one of the coke products include Da?

I'm not sure how they are supposed to be doing it, but I'll tell you my experience.

I checked in to Poly on June 4th and purchased a mug for $16.49 plus tax. They did not ask me my checkout date and I paid with my magic band. I went over to the machine and it said on the little screen that refills expire 06/18/2015. So, that was a full two weeks I could use it. Not sure if that was what they were supposed to do.

Refillable mugs will be good for 14 days automatically. As PP said, they don't ask or know how long your actual stay is.

Thanks, DH drinks Powerade, it's usually the sugar free so he'll probably pack on a few pounds on vacation.

No, as long as your 2 reservations are consecutive. Just keep your receipt from the purchase of your mug. When your 14 days is up, go to the wherever they sell mugs at your current resort. Give the CM your receipt and the 2 confirmation number and they will add the days needed to cover resort #2.

Am I correct on this one....I am purchasing a DDP for the 1st part of my split stay and I will be getting a refillable mug obviously. The second part of my consecutive split stay we are NOT purchasing the DDP and paying OOP...Will the refillable mug from the 1st part of the split stay work at the 2nd resort as long as the second resort is within 14 consecutive days? THANKS very much! I think the answer is YES, but not totally certain!

Yes. Previously, when you purchased the mug, the CM would date it based on your resort stay(s). Currently, they've eliminated all but one mug price, and the mugs are simply dated for 14 days into the future. This saves labor cost and time at the point of purchase. (Probably the old effort wasn't worth the cost to input the data.)

For our stay, we aren't on DDP at either of our 2 resorts (split stay). I plan to purchase the refillable mugs for the going price ($16.49/ea) and use them for both stays, which fall within a 14-day period.

The refillable mug program was a lot more complicated in the past, with pricing levels based on length of stay, DDP vs non-DDP, etc. Everyone had a unique idea about how the program worked. It was confusing, to say the least.

The new way the refillable mug works is much simpler. The Disney CM programs the mug microchip for a date 14 days into the future (from start date). No other info is input. When you place the mug on the tray under the drink you're choosing, the mug expiration date is read by the beverage station computer, and it's either 'you get a drink' or 'you don't.' The refillable mug can be used at any Disney resort food court beverage station -- that's about 24 places, not including pool locations. Your mug won't get "turned off" except for the 14-day expiration. You'll get a receipt when you pick up your mug. Keep it handy in case of any problem.
