Refillable mug--worth it?

Yes it is and it's also included in the Deluxe Dining Plan.

However starting in 2012 it will also be included on the regular Disney Dining Plan, so then it won't matter which one you reserve since the mugs are now going to be included with all three different versions of it.

Do you think it is worth it to purchase a refillable mug? We are on the DDP, but do not get mugs with our plan. We have ordered a case of water, a 6 pack of pop (for DH), and a couple packs of juice boxes to have in our room/take with us to the parks. I don't know how often we will eat at the food court. Probably at least 2-3 times for breakfast, not sure that we will be there for any other meals. I drink coffee, but I've heard the coffee at the food courts is TERRIBLE, so I probably won't be getting that.

I think I"m probably just being a cheapskate and overthinking it. Even if I only get three refills for the entire week, I would probably come out ahead (between the cost of the drinks and the mug as a souvenir.)

Did anyone buy the mug and wish they hadn't, though?

Guess I was mistaken as I had thought with MYWD at moderates you got a mug with package...If not this year still would be worth it to have the mug as you can refill as many times as you want when come back from the parks or if your sitting around the pool. but when they go to the "chip" in the mug like they trying at all star resorts right now ...then may have to reconsider the mug.. as they saying only can use three times hour and we like to sit by pool and may fill ours up a lot...and my brother in law has to have his coffee so is best for him just hope Disney ditches this chip idea in mugs. If people bring old ones then have a CM watching that refill area. ALL should not be punished for a few who bring old mugs

We stayed 9 days at POFQ and bought only 1 mug. My hubby & I shared a coffee in the morning (we thought it was pretty good coffee), then some iced tea later in the day. To buy 4 of them for $60 would've been a bad value for our family, but 1 worked out great!

As others have said, if you would have purchased a drink a day at the food court, then it's worth it.
But for me, definitely not worth it -- because I wouldn't purchase a drink a day from the food court.
OP mentions a grocery delivery. If you are planning on stocking up on beverages to your room, it will be significantly more cost effective and time-effective than using the mugs.

Obviously, you can't use the mugs at the parks. And most people don't want to carry them around all day. Meaning, if you want a "beverage" at the end of the day, you need to go back to your room, get the mugs, and then go over to the food court.
But if you already have beverages stocked in your room, why make the extra trip to the food court?

And the mug.. at about $15... gets you tiny refills of soda or ice tea. But if stocking up from the grocery anyway, you can get a week's worth of beverages for $5.

So looking at my family..... spend $10 for the whole family, and have cold beverages in the room whenever we want. Or spend $15 per person, to get a tiny mug, where I need to trek all the way to the food court, to get refills.

If you are there for more than a few days and drink a lot of soda, tea, powerade, and hot chocolate than yes, it's worth it. My husband and I just came from an 8 day trip there and we got the mugs and definitely got our money worth! We only filled up our mugs one of the mornings we were there but we filled them up every night and if we went back to the resort in the afternoon then we also filled them up then. I would fill mine up with a soda, drink it, and then put very little ice and fill it up with the Gold Peak Tea and put what I did not drink in the fridge for the next morning.

Hi! For us, it really isn't worth the extra cost. Especially if you are on the DDP and have drinks in your room already-you get a drink with your meal and get a refill and you will have water in your room. For us we have found the mugs almost an annoyance-they don't really hold much and when it's all said and done they just seem to be in the way.

I will say, it looks really nice sitting on my desk at work-I use it for my water cup.
