Allearsnet has 3 different mugs listed on their mug page. A 12 oz , a travel and a standard. What's the difference. We're staying at POFQ and it says 12 oz. We have stayed at both wilderness and animal kingdom lodges and got both a big staight sided mug and a mug that is smaller and contured to fit in mug holder in car. Is the 12 oz either of those?

THANKS

They have both those styles of mug you have had before at POFQ, not sure how much they hold though, so no idea about the 12oz thing.

Are they getting rid of the slimmer, travel sized ones? Last time we were at WDW, CSR only had the big fat ones (which we dont like because they don't fit in our cup holders) and everywhere we looked we saw people with only the big fat ones.

I hope the skinny ones are back when we return!

CSR always had the bigger 16oz one. It has a handle on the side. I don't ever remember seeing a travel size (12oz) one at CSR.

We got the big fat mugs at WL back in 02. I believe they are 16 oz. They do not fit in a cup holder. Too fat and too big.

We just got back from POFQ and they offered both the contoured travel mug and the regular travel mug. I don't know if they hold the same amount though.

I remember actually measuring the content of a travel mug and a fat mug from CBR. The travel mug actually held more than the fat mug (about 1/2 oz or so).

When we were at WL a couple of weeks ago the lady at checkout told us they only had the slimmer one -- she could not remember the last time they had offered the larger size. Interestingly, it looked like about half the folks in the place were using the larger size. :ssst:

We have gotten both of them before and found that they held close to the same amount of liquid. I was just guessing that the larger one had more insulation on it to slow the temperature change of the drink.

They also only sold the smaller ones for our last trip and I did also notice that alot of people had the bigger ones.

we were at the Poly in early Nov and they only had the fat ones, no contoured ones. So we only bought 1. I like the contoured, they fit in the cup holders. I still use mine from AKL at home. :wave2:

The clerk at Capn Cooks did not know when the contoured ones would be in.

I got the fat mug style in about 2002. That is when they were not marked "good only for this trip". It is also why you will continue to see them. At that time we were told we could use them whenever we visited VWL. So I do! :goodvibes

I purchased a refillable mug at Saratogoa Springs in February '05. I'll be in Disney in December -- Can I still use there? It was dated 2004 on the mug.

Thanks a bunch and wishing all a very Happy and Healthy Holiday Season!

Not suppose to. Only for the visit it was purchased but that doesn't mean people don't. This is a very hot and debated topic. Be careful.

This policy didn't start until I believe 2003. Before that we were told by the CM's we can use them whenever we visit the resort it was purchased from. Once they changed the policy they added a disclaimer on the mug stating it was only good for the trip for which it was purchased. Some of us were lucky enough to get them while the policy was more "liberal" :sunny:

Actually, the policy was already in effect when we went on our first trip in 1997. We were told at the Polynesian that our mugs were only good at the Polynesian for that trip. Plus there was a sign posted in Capt Cook's with similar language on it. So we knew already not to reuse mugs.

But some CMs did tell people that they could bring them back and reuse them. Thus the addition of the policy being printed directly on the mug.

So I guess the Polynesian didn't permit using them on subsequent trips? VWL told me they were good for life if I brought them back to VWL. I wouldn't have bought them otherwise, because to be honest how often do you really use them per trip? When I left my room I was usually going to a park so certainly didn't want to take them there with me, so I may have refilled them once. I went back to VWL one other time and filled it once. I don't think they really needed to be vaque about their policy or change it but they did. I would never refill a mug that clearly said "this trip only."
