How does this work? Is it the same at all the resorts? I'm specifically wondering about the Contemporary. Do you pay for the mug & then get FREE refills as often as you wish? Or do you pay a small fee for each refill? Can I only use it at my resort? How big are these mugs? Do they come with a cover? Sorry for all the questions. As many times as we've been, we've never used them. Thanks for any help.

Mugs are available at the food court/fast food restaurant in each resort. At the Contemporary, they are available at the Food & Fun Center. The mugs cost aboutg $12 plus tax. They are 12 or 16 ounces. Refills are full for the duration of your stay at the resort. There are cover on the mugs. The mugs are well worth it if you are a big soda or coffee drinker.

When we stayed at BC last Dec. they had the mugs in the room, if you unwrapped/started using it, they put it on your room bill, just like the minibar snacks!!

Every resort has a couple places to get free refills (like pool bar, fast food rest.) - you just have to check with whatever resort you're staying at. They are only to be used at your resort. They are not very big, about 12 oz.

We will definately get the mugs, but we'll only get 2 for the 4 of us (two very young boys don't do soft drinks much!)

I know this applies at teh deluxe resorts, not sure about the mods...

If you take the mugs in the room they charge various service fees on top of the price of the mugs. Get them at the food court or whereever your refill place is to avoid paying the service fee!

I have heard that water fountain water is not the best tasting. This person also told me that if I buy a WDW bottle of water that I could refill it at any of the soda stations that have water there. Is this true? I drink mostly water (about a gallon a day). Any info would be great!

Personally I think the fountain (tap) water is terrible, and I won't drink it.

I don't think there's a problem with getting WATER from a soda station into your bottle. The problem is that it usually comes from the same "nozzle' as the soda, and often has residue of soda in it, which IMHO makes it taste gnarly.

You might want to try a Brita Bottle. DH finds the tap water "ok" if he drinks it from his Brita bottle, as long as it's COLD. You can always fill it with mostly ice in the morning before you leave your resort.
