Refillable Mug question?

Hello,
I'm sure last time I looked there was a thread all about refillable mugs but I can't find it now. Anyway, my question has 2 parts, thanks in advance for any help with this.

1) I check into AKL for 7 nights and then switch to BWV for 9 nights. Should I count on buying 1 mug per person, or 2?! I don't mind if I have to pay again - 16 nights is a long stay, but I just need to know what to expect in terms of budgeting.

2) Last time I was in WDW I could only use my mug at the resort I was staying in but I've read a few things now that suggest I can use it at any Disney resort, which is it?!

Thanks and I'm sorry if these answers are somewhere really obvious! Is a mug $17.99 or is that wrong too?!

I think the cups stop working after 14 days.

I know that that's the standard time that they say, but it varies. Last month at CSR, my partner's mug said it was going to expire in two weeks, but mine was set for almost a month. Either way though, the policy is length of stay including split stays, so if your mug is going to expire they can extend it for you. I think it would just begin with the full number of days though.

I got a mug activated at the Beach Club Marketplace at the end of October 2016 for 6 weeks. I was in shock, and a little upset because if it had been 7 it would have lasted from my F&W trip through my early December trip lol

What are the current mug colors and designs? We haven't bought any in years and still have the old teal, pink and black and was curious what they current are now. Any recent photos?
