Where can I find the new pricing for the mugs? I know I read somewhere that it will be dependent on how many days you would like to refill them, but of course I can't find that now...
I will be going in February and am trying to budget.
Thanks!

From the Disney Food Blog

Guests will be able to purchase mugs for a particular time frame, anywhere from one day to the length of their Disney stay. (Note that a “day” is considered one calendar day, not a 24-hour period. So if you arrive at 11:00pm and activate your mug, the first day will end at midnight that night.) Here is the current pricing:

$8.99 for 1 day
$11.99 for 2 days
$14.99 for 3 days
$17.99 for length of stay (currently set at 14 consecutive days, but may be able to be manually extended by a Cast Member)

Thank you!

It's too bad our trip will be 4 days and we plan to tour resorts on our arrival and departure day so it looks like we'll be paying the full $17.99 :confused3

Think about it as if you're paying $5.99 for the mug and $3 per day for the beverages. Disney provides free beverages for days 5-14 as a benefit for those on longer stays which you won't be able to benefit from on this trip, but at least you are getting the value of what you paid for.

That's true...I never thought about looking at it that way. That makes it much more reasonable since I use my old mugs at home, and will easily drink $3 worth of coffee and soda per day.

Does anyone know how much it costs to upgrade your length of stay from 14 days to 20 days? I am staying in 3 resorts for a grand total of 20 days. How or where or when I do upgrade from 14 days to 20 days?

Do they at least have new designs, yet since they have the chips in them? Are they all using them now?

Same design on the mugs, but the lid/handle colors are now Green, Purple, and Orange. Not all resorts are on board yet, but getting ready to "go live".

There is no charge for stays longer than 14 days, but the chip needs to be manually updated after a 14 day period.

I was wondering I get a free mug with my package. Do i still ahve to pay a fee ? I am so confused with this pay by the day.

thanks

I'm assuming that you are getting the dining plan. The mug comes with the dining plan, but not with all packages - just those including the dining plan.

The dining plans include the mug for the length of stay, so there should be no additional payment.

Im sure its posted somewhere but how does this work on a split stay. Family has a stay coming up with 4 days at SSR, 4 days at AKL and 4 days BWV. So 12 consecutive days. Do you have to get a new mug each resort or can you use the los price for the whole trip?

I asked the same question.

When I was speaking either with DVC or Disney Dining Reservations (cant remember now) I was told that the mug would only be good for the resort at which it was purchased. Thus, I would get a new mug at each resort. For me, we have 1 night AKL, 1 night BWV, 6 nights at BLT, and 2 nights at OKW. So I added the cost, and it came to about 47 for the total stay, multiplied times 10 people, that equals $470 and 40 mugs....

So unless, I am misunderstanding and the Disney representative that I spoke with is misunderstanding, there is no way with a split stay that this is worthwhile... for me at least... seems profitable for Disney though.

Just bought ours and was told that it would work across multiple resorts. When I get a fill, the screen tells me that I have refills remaining until 9/21

please try it at a other resort and let us know, are you doing a split stay

Yes. It works. Still showing same expiration after check-in at new resort.

thanks for the info. that's good to know. sometimes we like to zip over to Pop from BWV to grab a bite in their food court. we were wondering if the mugs would work there. We will give it a try next month.

Also seems to be working at every rapid refill station across all resorts. FYI.

I dont like the new pricing or the mug... 15oz does not go far if you need a drink... At least they should have made the mug larger!

just my 2 cents!!!!!popcorn::

got a call back from disney rep today regarding the email i sent. and once again was told that they mugs were "resort specific" and could only be used at the resort purchased.... I told him I had been "talking" with someone who was there now and that they were able to use their mugs for length of stay at multiple resorts with a split stay... disney rep response.... well, maybe that is something specific to the food and beverage department....

so, it sounds like the right hand doesnt know what the left hand is doing once again....

I'm going with the field test results posted here and keeping fingers crossed. We leave on Sept 19. So I will report back. We are staying at 4 resorts this trip and I plan on purchasing my mug at resort number 1 for a duration of 10 days.
