Refillable mug give away?

I thought the 14 days was contiguous from the first day of activation? So they're probably expired already?

When we stayed at AOA last year we left them on a bench on our way out with a note-- we only stayed 2 nights so I always hope someone found a use for them! We washed them, but I never considered people might be icked out.

I get that it is meant as a nice gesture, but to me it is no different than taking some cookies from a buffet and handing them to a stranger. Sure, maybe it is not expressly wrong, but it does go against what Disney intends.

As far as them needing a deep dishwashing clean: are you all giving them a high heat sanitation clean after everyone and their brother has been grabbing and fingering them up while they sit on display? :crazy2: Right! Food for thought for those insisting soap and water isn't clean enough...

Why is it stressing you out monorail mom ?

Haha maybe stressed wasn't the right word! One of my DD's and I always joke that we have issues with bags and cups...we both have way too many of them!!! I have mugs from our first trip with our kids back in 2004, so to me they're a collectible.

One trip a few years ago we saw a gentleman finish his drink in his resort mug, then toss it out before he got on Magical Express for the airport. Two of my kids actually gasped! :)

It is a very nice thought to pass it on, though.

Every time I get a refill mug I walk right over to the hot water dispenser and almost burn myself while I clean and sanitize the cup and lid.

Do you guys really think that hand washing in soap and hot water in the hotel room sink doesn't get them clean? I would have no problem with using a mug that had been washed that way that was used by someone else.

I am a health inspector. If you eat out at restaurants that have washable dishware/utensil, don't always think they are always sanitized as required. We find a lot of commercial dishwashers not working properly, therefore the items are not getting properly sanitized. Unfortunately, that is reality.

That is what I do!!! And I generally use that water to rinse my mug out after my morning coffee if we are still in the food court. If I have to drag it around with me, I put some paper toweling inside to keep it dry, which is what I do with the mugs when we are home.

My DS and DDIL just returned from a cruise. They were allowed access to their room before it was cleansed, and they saw 4 soda package mugs that had not been activated. They had no issues using them that trip. I would nto give my mugs away, but that is because we always take them home and enjoy them all year long.. But if there is time left on the mug, and someone wants to use it, why not? It was paid for.
