Refillable Disney Cups!!

Ok I am going to sound a right scrooge here but with 5 children need to save some pennies somewhere!.
Last year we stayed at Pop Century and brought 5 refillable cups home with us. Does anyone know if we can take the to another Disney Hotel (Caribbean Beach) this year rather than rebuy them OR I can borrow 5 Caribbean Beach cups off some friends but we know they are not the 'up to date' version so can they be used??

From what I understand they are only good at the resort they were purchased at - do they have different design than other resorts or do they change every year!

The official line is that the mugs are only valid for the resort purchased and for the length of your stay.

Unofficially - I've read of people taking their mugs back every year to different resorts and never being 'arrested' by the mug police

The mug designs do change from time to time for each resort.

We have always bought new mugs, you only need to stay in a resort for a few days to get your money back - and they are great souvenirs too

Thanks for your replies...I did notice people using different mugs last year at Pop Century but I wouldnt do it when its not allowed!!. I also think taking them is a great idea when on the plane...saves the drink spilling anywhere if a bumpy ride!!...I know I sound tight but taking 5 children ( 2 of my own and 3 nephews!!) with just me and the husband...the holiday costing a fortune so need to budget somewhere!

The official line (at the moment: that's not to say it's written in stone and won't change ) is as Tim says - that the mugs are good for the resort in which they were purchased and for the length of that stay in that resort only.

Do all the children want to bring home mugs again this trip? If not, then maybe you could manage with, say, three mugs between them. Of course, this may cause too many problems to make it worth saving those few $$$s LOL!

I went to Barking Abbey!!!!...left in 1985!!..very spooky!!

They all need their own cups...could you imagine the hassle..'urrgghh its got germs around the rim' OR 'I aint drinking that hes slavered in it'

Think I will just buy them all new!

5 mugs for the kids would cost about $15 each carnt remember how mutch and if you add in any for the adults so cost would be $75.00 minimum why not buy a stryrofoam cooler from anyware from publx to wallmark range from $1.99 to $5.00 put on ledge over bath i know there is a big one in the bathrooms in CBR and fill with ice and cans of pop and beer also bought from publix to walmart make a small hole in the bottom of the cooler with a pen and melted water drains out will garantee you will not spend $75.00 over 2 weeks on pop even with 5 kids $75 buys a lot of cans and it tastes better than the drinks from the foodcourt dispencers.If you have a cool bag take it with you a nice small one that takes about 6 cans use the bags that they give you for the ice put ice in then and use a tierap (we take them with us)to keep the cans cool if you go to the waterparks you can take them in as long as its pop and not beer

Better still if now they have put fridges in mods which they are planing and you dont have to pay for them you would have to check resorts board to confirm this

Hi

You are only allowed cups that were purchased from the resort and throughout your stay only. They change thier cups regularly so people dont take the mick out of them. I have a big family and personally I would never do this, as I hate seeing people take the mick out of such a good deal. Sorry if this offends, but its something I would never do. So just be careful as catering staff have the right to check where you are staying and if need be remove you from the hotel premises.

England's Dsiney Gang - That is quite spookey!!! - I left in 1982 so a few years before you. You wouldn't recongnise the area now - how long have you lived away? and did you move before they installed the fantastic one way system and built the shopping centre ( ) on the old football ground

You would have left the same year as my brother then!!.

Both my brothers and the families live in Essex (Wickford & Chelmsford) and I still keep in contact with a few school friends so visit Barking quite often!. I lived in Cavendish Gdns...My nan still lives on Longbridge Rd!..so yep I know the one way system!!.
My Aunt & Uncle live on Ripple Rd with a wonderful view of the flyover from their living room window!.
I moved away with my job and then met my husband up here in Middlesbrough...my parents retired up here too as my mum is originally from here!

The refillable mugs are $11.99 plus tax each, unless you're travelling with Virgin in which case you will get two free if you stay at a Disney esort. That said, we got four vouchers for a party of three a fortnight ago at All Star Movies. I also witnessed several people using All Star Music mugs at Movies and nothing was said.

Oh I never knew that about Virgin....We are flying with them!!

That benefit is only available to virgin holiday customers nut flight only and they have to stay in a flagship resort like the all stars and refillable mugs in allstars can be used in all three allstar resorts, they just can't be used in the moderates and deluxe

al the allstars are classed as one resort so no problem with using the mugs at each one
