Hi all, just a few questions...

Can you get the cups refilled at all places in the park or is it restricted to a few places like the meal deal?

Do any of the CS places at City Walk refill them or is it only good in the parks?

How big are they?

TIA!

I don't know about the size, but it looks like the refillable cup is only available if you do the food option. Is that correct?

1 Day Meal Deal Souvenir Cup

This ticket entitles you to one (1) day of unlimited soft drink fountain beverages at all participating Meal Deal locations at either Universal Studios Florida OR Universal's Islands of Adventure.

To purchase the 1-Day Meal Deal Sipper Cup ticket online you must also purchase a 1-Day Meal Deal ticket in the same online transaction.

All Ages: $8.99

No, there is a cup for purchase at the CS restaurants for $6.99 (you can see it listed on many of the menu pics in the food thread) and refills are $.79. It's not the same cup or the same deal as the Meal Deal cup. The meal deal cup costs more and has free refills but is only good for the day you purchase it. The regular one costs less, refills are cheap but not free and is reusable FOREVER! :)

i bought my mug the year dueling dragons opened.

any mug you buy at universal is considered allowable for the refills at a discount.

the beverage deal cup is smaller, or the ones i saw last time there.
they are supposed to be valid for the day you buy them or for the duration of that stay.

if you plan to make repeat visits, go with the mugs so you can bring them back each visit.
don't buy the boxy ones as they are a pain to carry around with you.

the beverage deal can be separate from the meal deal promo.

Thanks for the info! So, do all of the CS and kiosks honor the refill or is it only at select places? And is it in park only or do some of the CS places at City Walk honor it as well?

refillables are only inside the park.
as CS will honor it.

the carts have bottled beverages and can not do cup/mug refills.

city walk is not included in this beverage program, either are the onsite hotels.

for the rides that require the guests to be hands free, there are free lockers that can be used.
if you are carrying around the cup/mug, utilize the free locker in order to do those rides.

for carrying a mug around the park, you can loop it on your clothing.
the cups do not have handles...

Actually you can fill the refill cup at CityWalk--I used the snack stand near the lake, but there are probably other places too (especially if the park owns/runs them).
Also note that there are many snack counters that have fountain beverage where you can get a refill without having to go into a counter service location.

The restaurants at CityWalk do not honor it, but there was a kiosk-type place in CityWalk that had fountain sodas, that did honor the cheap refills.

You can also use the butterbeer mugs from WWoHP for cheap soda refills . . . I still had to pay full price for butterbeer refills, but soda and a few other things were $0.85. It does have a handle, but no lid or straw. Very durable too - they can even withstand a bounce down Kirkman Blvd. (don't ask me how I know this :lmao:)

Note - the Hog's Head mugs you buy in WWoHP can only be used for alcoholic drinks, and no discounts on refills for those (that I know of). ;)

ETA: You can use your mug in both parks, on more than one day if you buy the standalone refill mugs at the park.

i didn't mention the kiosk at CW as it wasn't open on my last visit.
didn't know if it was a temp or permanent thing.

my mug has a handle, lid and thick plastic staw.
a couple of years ago, a TM at one of the carts, replaced the straw for me.

more than ten years old is my mug...........

(i do have the BB refillable mug but i prefer to use the dueling dragons one.
it is bigger...)

even though i get the soda discount for the refill, i still show my ap for the 10% discount for off the discounted refill price..........:rolleyes1

cheap.
yes, i guess i am......

are you talking about the BK/Moe/Panda section?
you were telling about City Walk and not sure if the above is what you mean.

or

are you referring (snack counters) to the vendor carts that are thru out the parks?
the carts that are outside in the park usually have bottled beverages.

i don't recall them having fountain soda (w/the exception of the cart by IFFF), but i guess it depends on the time of year you are in the parks. Things are changed for different seasons in the park.
i know they have beer dispensed from the carts at times.

Ha, I hadn't even thought about using my AAA discount for the refills- great suggestion, thanks!

Also interesting that the BB mugs will work for the refills. Thanks for that. :)

anybody know if you can use the big cup for .85 refills of pear cider in hogs head? I know butterbeer and pumpkin are excluded, but the butterbeer souveneir mugs have soda and pear cider refills for .85 , and was curious if the same applied for the big cups? For refill purposes it was still considered a soft drink for the butterbeer mugs .

I was out at the park for Jaws' last day (Jan 2nd), and noted that the refill price has gone up a dime, it's now 95 cents (With tax).

somebody posted about that in an older thread.
could have been about 6 weeks ago.

i forgot their reply.

I'm not specifically sure about Hogs Head. You can use the big red cups with a discounted refill at The Three Broomsticks for Pear Cider, Apple Cider, and Teas.
