refillabe mug and split stays

Sorry, no such thing as a 'trade in', and mugs are only supposed to be used at the resort purchased for the current stay.

Granted, you are 'staying' all at once, but the definition of a 'stay' is while you're checked in to a particular resort. Even though you're not leaving Disney, you have two 'stays' if you're at two resorts.

Actually, one year we had to split our stay between POP and POR because of room availability problems and the manager at POR let us 'trade in' our mugs! I explained the situation to him and showed our receipt and he (not just willingly, but happily) took the POP mugs and gave us four new POR mugs! Never say never when it comes to Disney I guess.

Now see...quite frankly I disagree with all of you. The OP is staying at the WDW resort for 10 consecutive days...it just happens to be at 2 resorts. I see no reason why she should have to buy mugs at each resort. I think that buying one set of mugs at the first resort should be honored at the second resort in the same stay. I'm not saying in stays 10 years later, but I see no reason why splitting a stay between 2 resorts means 2 sets of mugs.

OP, I'd take my receipt for the purchase of the mugs at the first resort to the 2nd resort and see what they'll do for you. If they don't want to honor it as a purchase, then you have a good suggestion to make to WDW.

I have absolutely no understanding of why the mug issue is such a big deal to so many people. Please help me understand.

You can also refill BC mugs in the Beach Club Marketplace. We found it very convenient to use the Marketplace if we were going to our room, and Beaches & Cream if we were poolside .

I just had to chime in, mind you I abide by all the mug rules and I love buying them cos I use them for my coffee every morning when Im going to work, BUT at our last stay at POP, it was a FREE FOR ALL, people had mugs from EVERY OTHER RESORT all 3 all stars, AKL, CR, GF, everyone, big gulp cups, double gulps(the BIG ones), empty water bottles being filled with slushees....noone said anything to anyone, but all I kept thinking about was these boards and how if we were all there wed LET EM HAVE IT!
