Refill Cups in the Parks??

Okay, I still don't get it? What is the difference between the $5 & $11 cups? I bought a $5 sponge bob, blue with a yellow cover and it has a handle. What is special about the $11 cups?

The $11 one is square shaped (shaped like sponge bob) and you drink out of sponge bob. It used to come with bubbles also but I'm not sure if it still does. You can't see through the plastic like you can on your blue cups. It looks kind of like this:

This is a toothbrush holder I found online but it does look simlar to the cups only smaller. The sponge bob cup is a box(cube)-shaped not like the rectangle of the toothbrush holder so it is much wider.

We haven't been to US in a while (besides our 1 day trip last August I think the last time we were there was 2003) and we have a Rug Rats mug and also the square SpongeBob one. Do they still have those, and if not, am I correct that I can bring them anyway for refills?

Every time that we visit I.O.A and U.S I buy one of their refillable cups (1 per park, sometimes 2 one for DS and DD ). I like to collect them. I also do this at the Disney resorts. It's like a cool souvienor. And to refill them is only $1.95 ( I'm not sure if the $1.95 price is w/ AP) Any one collect the cups. When we get home I wash them out and put them on display my kids are bummed because I don't let them use them. Does anyone else do this? I also have cups from Planet Hollywood.

The refills are $1.25 plus tax for a total of $1.34

If you have an AP, the total cost is $1.13.

Am planning on getting one of these cups but am not keen on fizzy pop (soda) is there a non fizzy option other then water when you come to refill?

Oh, And can you get ice to keep refill cold?

You could also get an ICEE .. believe those are a bit more though. I don't remember how much I spent on mine, but that's what I usually get. Might be $2.50 but not sure. And the Spongebob still comes with bubbles, atleast when I saw it in May, it did.

I can't believe I threw out my old MIB cup from about 5 years ago. I didn't think they were still doing the refill thing the last time I went (2 years ago).

I'm going to have to get a new one in October.

Anyone know if there is a AAA or Universal MC discount on either the cups or refills?

also can show your AAA card for same discount.


this year i am taking my dueling dragons (ice) with me on my trip.
it has a handle.

i had no idea in the last 14 trips i have made i could use that cup for cheap refills.

AP discount is greater sometimes by as much as 10% others by 5%

When we were there last week the price was $1.39 plus tax to refill. If you have a MasterCard buy a large drink at Mel's Diner (2.99) and you get the souvenir cup ($5.99) free.

So you're only paying $2.99 for the refill cup & beverage? Any other suggestions to buying the cheapest refill mugs? I really don't care what the mug looks like. I just want the cheap refills. (Although having a handle is a plus so I can hang it from my bag)
