Last time we went to the Poly (10 months ago) we bought 5 refilable resort mugs. I would just like to know if anybody has every tried using them again, or if the mugs are the same is last time. I know they are like $20per, and If I could use them again, it would give me $100 extra spending money. I leave in 5 days. Thanks

You are not officaly allowed to use them on another trip or at other resorts, but I've heard of lots of people doing it and getting away with it, I would not recomend it though, click on the link in my warning below.

Yea I dont buy that either. However refillable mugs are a huge hot topic on the boards. You are not supposed to reuse them or use them at other resorts. I see a huge debate unraveling here AGAIN.

If I bought them at the Poly, and am going back to the Poly in 5 days (about 8 months in between) Wouldnt the mugs have the same design, and therfor, you would be able to use them again?

You don't have to heed my warning but beware of serious consequences! pirate:

Why don't we lock this thread right now before it gets out of hand....

The "warning" is not real, but anytime you raise a topic having to do with ethics on these boards you are leaving youself open for some less-than-favorable comments!

Soarin2Disney, I suggest you do a search for some of the other refillable mug threads (there are dozens) and see what has been posted in the past.

The refillable mugs are much less than $20 each. They are indeed valid for only the visit during which they're purchased, and only for the resort or complex at which they're purchased

$15 each, still, it would save $75, and Ive seen people use blizzard beach mugs at the poly and people look right at them refilling the ice or whatever. Might as well give it a shot

OMG!!! :earseek: No one can take a joke can they? I am not starting to debate! I am making fun of Donald-Duck-Brains that make a big deal out of this kind of stuff. Wow!
To be serious now...
I would not use them again because your not allowed to but if you do I don't think you'll get caught pirate: .

Here we go again...........................................

We will be staying at WL for the third time this fall and are the proud owners of 8 mugs. We will buying an additional four on check-in day.

Well, the mug design doesn't really have anything to do with whether you are able to use them again.

I'm sure part of your mug design is a statement that says something like "good for refills for length of stay".

Have a great vacation. :wizard:

My daughter accidentally refilled her BB mug at CBR ... she grabbed the wrong mug on her way out of the room... and shockingly no one pointed and screamed blasphemy!
Of course if someone would have said something, we happily would have shown them her actual CBR mug in our room.
When we return to Disney 12/06, I am not sure where we are staying, but we will be buying new mugs even if it is CBR.

Personally, I say go for it and bring those mugs back. Life is far too short and I'm enjoying my vacation far too much to care one bit whether you happen to bring back an old mug. And yes, you're correct. If those mugs are less than a year old, you will probably have the same ones everyone else does. And even if yours were day-glo orange and the newer ones were hot pink, I'd seriously doubt many people would notice.

There, I said it. I'm an ethical person but I pick my battles. I don't think reusing mugs is a big deal. And I'm very confident there are a number of others out there that think the same way.
