Referral questions?

We have friends that just bought SSR. I was wondering what the proccess is for receiving the bonus. We would like to get the $200 DD to use for our trip in late May. How long does it usually take? Do they send you a form to fill out to choose what you want? Do I need to contact my guide? When do SSR owners close on their contracts? Will that having any bearing on when the bonuses are given out? Thanks!

When we bought into SSR, we had to give the referral name at the time of purchase. If your friends did not give your name when buying in, you may not be able to add it retroactively.

Thet actually looked into it a couple of years ago, and we got a letter from our guide saying if they bought we would be eligible for a bonus, so I don't think that's a problem.

If you are eligible for the $200 Disney Dollars............usually 6 weeks after the closing you will get a certificate letting you choose which option you would want.............

1.Disney dollars
2.Towards dues
3.Towards pts add on

After you choose your option and mail it back it takes about 4 weeks. You can contact your guide and he will have a pretty good idea of the time frame for you to recieve it.

all that is assuming your state allows you to receive referral bonuses. Many do not.

I received 2 referral bonuses this year from both my sisters' purchases. I received a notice of the bonus, where you chose your bonus option (disney $$, applied toward dues, donation, etc.), the month following the closing of their purchase then the fedex with my disney dollars came about 4 weeks later. In total I think it took 6-8 weeks.

One of the purchases was even a joint purchase I did with my sister. I don't know if because it was registered under her home address instead of mine, I got the bonus. -- unexpected but a nice surprise!

Gail Hayden is correct, CT does not allow any referral gifts, only our governor can get gifts. Sorry Gail about htat mobil home thing the other day.

When we bought last Fall, we gave the names of friends of ours who have said glowing things about DVC to us over the years. Our friends got the letter described above, and have chosen it to apply their bonus to this year's dues.
