When we were last "home" in July, we invited our friends from SW FLa to come stay for a few nights on our points. We know how crazy they are about disney as us and wanted to spend time with them. They loved DVC so much that we all went to SSR to see it and for them to take the tour. We referred them to Susie, our rep, and she really took care of them. She told us about the refrerral bonus, which we already knew about but never used before. I feel that not everyone likes what we like and we don't push. Anyway, I can't remember what she said about how long it takes to receive. I know they had to do all their paperwork and pay all their down payment. Also, do they give you a choice as to how you get it, Disney Dollars, maint fees? Hoping for Disney $$ as we are headed back in Nov for F&W for our Anniversary.
Anyone know how this works?

We've had this happen a couple of times, and it seems to take a month or two after the close before we receive our gift letter. The letter lets you choose Disney dollars, maintenance fees, or outstanding loan balance.

We were down in june and our friends who came with us purchased at SSR. they Closed on 6/29/04 and we received our certificate the third week in july. We chose the 200.00 disney dollars.

That's right the bonus is $200 either in Disney Dollars, towards dues, towards an add-on, a donation, or I believe there is some type of artwork you can choose also. It does take quite some time to get the letter. They won't send it until they have actually closed on the points. If you haven't received it about a month after closing then I would contact your rep.
