My DH will be going there for two weeks on business. It seems to be in the middle of no where and I am trying to put together a list of places for him to eat and maybe even some things to do (movies, or whatever). He doesn't mind driving a bit, but not hours. Any help would be very appreciated!! :thumbsup2

TIA,
Melissa

It looks like Reedsville is close to State College and Altoona. Altoona has various railroad museums and places to watch trains. Altoona has a mall and the usual chain restaurants. There are several caverns in the area that my Mom has on her wish list if we go visit during the right season. There several small amusement parks like Lakemont and Delgrosso's Amusement Park. There used to be a Slinky museum in Hollidaysburg.
When we go to PA, we used miss out on most of these except the trains stuff due to the seasonal hours/dates.

Although I cant really answer your question I rember when I was younger we went to Delgrosso's and we had so much fun. Sorry

Hi. I live in a small town in Huntingon County PA which is only about 30 min. from Reedsville. We are out in the middle of nowhere!

Our main attraction here is PA's largest man made lake, Lake Raystown. You can visit the website http://www.raystown.org/. It will give you information about the lake and has links to other things in our area. All of this should be within less than an hour drive from Reedsville.

The area he will be in has alot of amish. Every Wednesday, right in Reedsville and in near by Belleville there are are pretty large flea markets with everything from fresh produce to antiques to plain old junk:lmao:.

You are also pretty close to State College, PA which is the home to Penn State University Main Campus and there are quite a few places to shop and eat there.

If you have any questions please feel free to PM me of find me on Facebook (I'm pretty sure we are friends already on there)

Yes, we are friends on facebook (I didn't know you screen name). I just spoke to my DH and he said the hotel he is staying at is in State College, so that will work out pretty well. From my understanding of that area, my husband should not be to difficult to pick out of a crowd (see pic on my siggy):rolleyes1. So if you see him, say hi....this will totally freak him out! :lmao:

Thanks to everyone for the great info, it has been very helpful!:thumbsup2
