OOOoooooooooh, that makes sense. They close it because of the heat. It’s not air conditioned, and it gets too hot.

They may have AC... the monorail in WDW has AC, just not the one in DL.I wonder if they will do the same for the Disney Skyliner Gondolas?

No, unfortunately they aren't air conditioned. Hard to believe, being in Florida, right? I guess they are relying on the cross ventilation from the windows.
I'm sorry again. I always thought the WDW monorails had air-conditioning.
I rode it yesterday around 10:45. That was a mistake. It was sooo hot. Plus it kept stopping on the way to Tomorrowland. I’ll wait until the winter to ride it againSo, now that the weather is changing (cooler), is the monorail open all day?

In the past it stayed open all summer. This looks like more cost cutting by Disney. Charge more, give less.
Actually, in the past during the summer they would close intermittently, and there was no schedule til you walked up and they said it wasnt running. While it is fun to blame everything on cost cutting, this is something I wish they had done previously. Those tubes get so hot inside. In the past it stayed open all summer. Yup. I rode the monorail years ago and it was miserable. Honestly, it wasn't worth sitting in that sweltering sky submarine. Do yourself a favor and take the Disneyland Railroad. Much better and you get the breeze.Actually, in the past during the summer they would close intermittently, and there was no schedule til you walked up and they said it wasnt running. At Disneyland, it is a ride, and not transportation. But everyone does have to get off in Tomorrowland. We were there last week, and the monorail was closed often well past 6pm. And then it got so back up once it opened, it wasn’t even worth taking.
Apparently people in DL were using it like a ride and not getting off at DTD. So each stop, only 15-20 people were able to get on. They really need to make it one way both ways!!
