Redneck weddings (inspired by Bridesmaid Horror Stories)

Spill it. You can't tell us something like that and not tell us what you called it.

Tell us or we start burning the soles of your feet!!! :rolleyes1

Ok fine...those of us that wanted to be "nice" called it the Saloon Girl Dress. Those of us who didn't care about being "nice" called it the Bride Wh**e Dress.

Flame away....I'm used to brides yelling at me and I've already ruined about a hundred weddings. One more won't bother me.

This thread is too funny!!

We don't have rednecks in the UK - well, none that I know of! But we do have plenty of Chavs therefore I thought you guys might appreciate the beauty of the Chav Wedding. Unfortunately I do not have the honour of knowing these colourful characters.

I think I actually saw this wedding on a TV programme, it was a gypsy wedding

OK, OK you win. What's the deal with the mermaid get up?

Wow. Just wow.

I just wish I could have gone to this wedding! I just remember seeing it on TV in the UK and I searched for some photos for you guys - I got lucky, or unlucky whichever way you look at it :rotfl:

OMG, just looked at that Craig's Listing.

Friends of ours lived in Zebulon. When giving directions to their house, they' said they lived 'across the road from the Johnson Mall. Ends up they lived across from a farm owned by the Johnsons, in the middle of nowhere.

Keep 'em coming, makes me realize why some of my friends at either wedding were going on and on about how fancy it was!

Does anyone else think this looks like a drag queen wedding.... not that there is anything wrong with that :bride:

I think the bride looks nine months pregnant.

we went to a wedding just over ten years ago,, where the groom was in nice tux.. wearing a ball cap as he entered and exited the church, the ushers were wearing big smith overalls and western shirts.... the best man was drunk., so was the photographer, reception was held at couples home with a grocery store bakery cake, and a sandwich tray, and beer. drunken photographer double exposed all the pictures... there were geusts in attendance who showed up wearing plumbers uniforms and driving a company service truck.. and the groom ended up stripping at the party after the reception...... these folks turned out ok though. ten years laster they are happily married still. have lots of friends, and still laugh about the fiasco.

yes this was our wedding.

I suppose my first would fall into the redneck category. It was held outdoors in a public state picnic shelter. Several family members made all the food so it was an odd mishmash of a meal. There was no band, just a boombox with a bunch of country cassettes (it was 1988 what can I say). The guests sat on park benches lined up to appear like a chapel. Even though I pleaded with him NOT TO TAP THE KEG BEFORE THE RECEPTION out of respect for my very religeous grandparents, my wonderful shortly thereafter ex-husband did it anyway. As I started to come up the makeshift aisle he stood there at the makeshift altar with a beer in his hand:eek: His mother at least came up and took it from him but when we turned to face each other for our vows I glanced at the guests to see her and most of HIS side of the family drinking beer from plastic cups :sad2: I thought my grandmother was going to have a stroke. My grandpa, trooper that he was, kept it together long enough to pronounce us man and wife (he was the minister) and after 1 picture made a quick get away. Thankfully, he knew that wasn't something I had any part of. He knew I had more respect for him than that. Unfortunately, I was never able to get past that grossly blatant disrespect for my grandparents and the marriage was officially toast in 23 months. Or maybe it was fortunate because if I'd stayed with him, one of us wouldn't be alive right now.

I do love the proper English and their lovely head pieces. I used to think the Royal family had claim on the exiotic hats but these photos have convinced me otherwise.:lmao:

At the risk of being called a moron, can I please ask what a Chav is?

LOVE the pics, btw...especially the "Ariel the Lap Dancer" one.
