Rediscovering old tv shows

I loved watching the variety shows! The Carol Burnett Show was one of my very favorite shows.:) Dean Martin, Flip Wilson...oh, those were fun, entertaining shows!

I started a thread around Christmastime last year, about how much I miss the old Christmas variety specials- Andy Williams, The King Family, Bing Crosby, etc. I loved them!

Oh, yes! All of those were wonderful and I'd love to see those again.

And Bob Hope's specials too!

Nothing better than "The Rockford Files"!! I need to get the DVDs. My mom and I used to sit and watch it on a local station that ran old shows. Mom also got hooked on "21 Jump Street".

There's a cable channel on our system that shows "St Elsewhere" and "Hill Street Blues", which I'd LOVE to watch again, but we don't have the right tier to get the channel. :(

I discovered "7th Heaven" a couple of years ago after I lost my job. I really needed an uplifting show to get me through that depressing time. :thumbsup2

The West Wing. Bravo used to broadcast 2 hours every morning and I got so addicted I bought all 7 seasons. :happytv:

I personally think that whoever decided to put old TV shows on DVDs should be awarded our nation's highest honor. There's just nothing better than carving out a chunk of time and watching episodes back to back to back! Just feels like such a luxury-and no commercials, either!

Especially the no commercial part! I also like the commentaries that come on many of the DVDs.
